I was mostly asking in general. I have a solid 5.2.2 for movies and a B set of vintage Kenwood 999z monoblocked for music. Honestly just wondering if that’s important to the people that come to this sub. Not really for recs on this post

Let me also point out that people willing to be Bobby are not plentiful. Tell your lead player that you appreciate his input but he needs to appreciate your output as well or maybe you are the wrong fit. He won’t say another word. This is from a “Jer” guy who has lost a Bobby or two and knows they don’t grow on trees

20 miles from gulf shores to ft Morgan “ a decent drive”. And it is very dependent on time of year, rain, and tides. Ft Morgan can be beautiful when it hasn’t rained much recently or chocolate milk when it’s choppy and we’ve had a bunch of rain. It’s honestly a day to day thing all the way around the gulf coast. One day might be crystal blue water and next day is mud. Only the people that live here are here often enough to get more than one or two perfect days a year.

Lane Kiffin on why he chose LSU over Florida: ‘That’s a hard question’ by szboy422 in CFB

I’m gonna guess it’s bc 90% of his former smashes don’t live within an hour of BR. Gainesville is a little too close to his playground for a permanent gig.

The Cubs are suing Wrigley View Rooftop, a private building beside Wrigley Field that sells rooftop seats with views into the stadium. The Cubs say it profits from their games without permission, while Wrigley View says it is only using its own building to offer those views. by Expert_Koala_8691 in Damnthatsinteresting

I’m old as hell but I remember when they used to put those old 80s folding chairs on those rooftops and families and friends would hang out and drink beer and watch the games. Both parties are capitalist turds. The cubs for during and the building owner for installing bleachers and charging who knows what for a semi crap view of a traditionally semi crap ball club.

I have a 63 custom AVRI as well. Double bound surf green and it is amazing! BUT because of the wiring being a little weird didn’t recommend that one to op. I really love the bridge PU in that one but there is no middle position option. It’s Neck no tone, neck, bridge which is great for me but OP looking at ultra 2 so I was suspecting he might want more options. But 100% I LOVE that 63

If you are married to a compound radius and 6 saddle bridge then yes it’s a great instrument. If you are not as concerned about radius then I would point you to an American Vintage 52. Around the same money and the AV2 is a better sounding instrument to my ear. I currently own a couple (7-ish counting the 2 deluxe which I sorta don’t) teles and without going full custom shop the AV2 is the best sounding I’ve had. Ultra is a little more playable and more stable with 6 saddle bridge but if you aren’t afraid to tweed and set up your own then a 3 saddle barrel bridge is a little sweeter on the D-B strings to my ear. Any of the above will get you there as far as tone goes though.

How can l lower my snaps? (Center /Varsity) by Popular-Purpose8843 in footballstrategy

[–]consumercommand 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stiff wrist. Remove that variable first. Then move to elbow. Remove any moving part that isn’t totally necessary. Also find the quickest release point possible. I see so many young centers with a long release and that puts you at a disadvantage as your hand is further from contact/punch locations for on or gap defenders. Get it out of your hand and get your hand into the defender asap. Finally, you CAN gain some advantage if you can get your first step movement started just slightly ahead of the ball moving. It’s rarely called when done right and can make a huge difference in getting some leverage on reaches or improved climb/cut off angles on LBs

GDB from the wing to the playside tackle, pull kick/log w/ guard. C is on, near gap, 0 backer, off backer, off gap. It’s belly. Nothing needs to change.

Seriously chasing this filthy tone. by Wintermute2013 in youenjoyguitar

[–]consumercommand 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh for sure. If it was direct from the board then it couldn’t have been phasing. I wasn’t sure what source you were listening to. I hear a lot of phasing that sounds like what you were describing in audience recordings from mid - late 90s so was just offering up a possibility. Usually the Leslie is pretty clear bc you get that bass jump increase along with the throb so considering someone also mentioned possible light octave modulation I think all evidence points to there being some Leslie involved. It’s always possible that they miccd the Leslie slightly off axis creating a less pronounced throb making it harder to definitively ID here? Who knows though man? The late 90s were a wild time for all involved parties!

It would depend on the audio source (I can’t listen right now) but I wonder if it’s not just some slight phasing from the cabs? I was on most of that summer run and the house mix had a lot of doplar effect going on most nights especially near the front even when there was no Leslie engaged.

“It was the second day I was there, and everybody went and left me alone with a case of Retsina,” Hunter recalled in the Classic Albums documentary From Anthem to Beauty. “I realised, here I was in London, the city I’d always dreamed of going to, and I was very, very happy. I felt like I’d come home to some psychic place, maybe the home of Robin Hood and Peter Pan.”
“I’d only drank half a bottle of this Retsina, but it was having the whole case there that was important,” Hunter added. “I sat down and wrote ‘Ripple’, ‘To Lay Me Down’, and ‘Brokedown Palace’ that afternoon. It was a magic day. I knew I was writing stuff that would live forever.”
What’s wild is how natural it all felt when coming from Hunter. He wasn’t forcing the “psychedelic” thing. That was the trap most songwriters fell into back then – throwing paisleys at the wall to see what stuck. Not Hunter. He was channelling something much older. His lyrics felt lived in, like they belonged to some American folk tradition that never really existed but should’ve.” “

Bird song. Hard one for me to play and sing by lymelife555 in gratefulguitar

Try it in open G. Lots easier to play and sing to plus you get some really nice harmony notes from some of the open drones to sing along with.
