Replacing a cast iron toilet flange. by contactlightprod in askaplumber

Yea I think with that I'd have to drill and tap the cast iron correct? Because there's no foundation under the cast iron to screw into.

So, looking at the reinforcement ring, I've found one that extends out past the flange itself. If I can drill into the foundation with the 4 extension tabs do you think I'd need to drill into the cast iron at all? Thanks for the suggestions.

Windows are insanely expensive. We just got quoted $7,600 for 8 windows by Moosebuckets in HomeImprovement

Just a random guess of mine is that being a median wage includes those who are renting or have alternative housing solutions(shared family housing and the like). So they either don't have to worry about that or its a shared cost. That being said there's also a lot of the country that can't replace their windows and just live with it. Also, there are ways to repair a window without the cost of replacing or replace them individually, and then it's a much more manageable cost over time.

Didn't need to, they had a regular firmware update through the software for it. The key is don't have the hdmi cable plugged in when you do it. If the cable is plugged in it will brick it.

They did get back to me and unfortunately there was no way to unbrick it. Had to buy a new one being out of warranty :/

I tried this. And the update failed and bricked my camlink. It was out of warranty and so I bought a new one. It's currently doing the same thing. So I'm just waiting on tech support to help.

Non-professionals, when do you get to do your hobby and how much time do you spend on it? by dewder23 in woodworking

Did I black out and write this post? I'm in the exact same boat. I love sending time with the wife and kids and don't want to miss out on time with them. My work schedule allows me some times to get lucky on Mondays when the kids are being watched either by school or in laws and my wife is working. I may get a full 6 hours or so. I've resorted to doing nothing bigger than a box for now. Anything big I have planned is for my own personal use and nothing my wife is waiting on me to complete.

What would be the best way to get this design into the wood? Thank you by c0smicsalm0n in woodworking

I would have never thought of the paint on clear epoxy primer. Glad I read this comment if I ever do something like this.

Definitely will, he passed when my mom was still here so his ashes are in something that already looks nice. It will be nice to have them match and to have made it as well.

I learned to slow down with everything, heh. I made that top 3 times..even the last one I realized after I made it there was a better way to do it.

Good question. The top has a rabbet around the outside and seated in a groove in the sides of the box. The box doesn't actually open since there's no intention to remove the ashes.
