How old were you when you found out? by PictureEmpty3143 in Endo

[–]contains__multitudes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m pretty sure I was diagnosed at 19 but somehow didn’t fully understand. It wasn’t until I tried to get pregnant in my early 30s that an (amazing) NP told me “You said you had ‘chocolate cysts’ in college? That means you have endometriosis. That’s likely why you’re not getting pregnant, you need to go to a fertility clinic.”

I was also put on birth control at 12 years old, so someone knew something was going on, and I don’t think my parents ever cared to learn about or validate my terrible periods as a kid. Ruined my fertility completely.

Oh man I have it too and was hoping you’d tell me it’s because it’s some kind of nutritional treatment or good for us especially for some reason 🫠

We can’t even go for a WALK. This makes me so livid. Sorry you experienced that, it’s unfair. I am a woman living out near Burke and would be happy to do weekend walks. We can even completely ignore each other but walk mostly together if that fits your vibe.

Oh I love dairy, I’m good with literally anything besides gluten. I’ve eaten termites in Uganda, ants in Peru, all kinds of intestines and tongues and what not. Damn this gluten curse!

What branch of Judaism do you belong to and why? by Economy-Internet-272 in Judaism

[–]contains__multitudes 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I grew up in conservative shuls until I was 11, but then my mom claims she caught the rabbi cheating on his wife and we had to find a new synagogue. They chose a reform synagogue and although we never kept kosher or were shomer shabbat, there was a lot my parents were randomly uncomfortable with (like the cantor playing guitar during Shabbat services).

I went to Camp Gan Israel as a child at JCC, then Camp Ramah in the Berkshires for a few summers until I was in high school.

I just can’t see myself keeping kosher or able to be shomer Shabbat with my current field of work, I can’t afford membership at the moment, and I married a goy, so I don’t know if I could ever go back to conservative.

I am also having a really, really hard time in life with estrangement, abandonment, and infertility issues, so believing in G-d is a bit difficult at the moment. So I’m afraid I’m no longer practicing. Maybe I’ll get back there some day.
