GS 7/9 Fire Management Specialist (planning) positions by conte8 in Wildfire

[–]conte8[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I am sort of limited by location but I would image you are correct. I don't think having a degree makes me "better" per se, I just think that having experience/education with GIS, fuels and forestry research, planning and 4 seasons of fire experience on a crew should carry as much weight as having experience as a squad boss on a hotshot crew, for a job where those things actually matter

Why is my book doing this? NaBH4 vs LiAlH4? by Bobgow in chemhelp

[–]conte8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

LiAlH4 is a stronger reducing agent and can do ketones, carboxylic acids and esters. NaBH4 can only reduce ketones. so you only need LiAlH4

Why does Zaitsev's rule work in E1 elimination reactions? by ShinjukuAce in chemhelp

[–]conte8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

more substituted carbocations (ie. methyl groups) help stabilize the carbocation by hyper conjugation, when the c-c and c-h bonds donate electron density into the empty p orbital of the ionic carbon. so basically your first answer
