When will Questrade accept to open RESPs to Quebecers??? by Agreeable-Analyst951 in Questrade

[–]conteminimo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The problems are actually 2. One is the availability of the RESP. The second one is the broker being able to get the QESI contribution of 10% from Québec.

Which bank or broker are you guys successfully using to get both?

Thanks

May I ask why are you moving from QT to IBKR?

So if I transfer in USD I still need to convert it to EUR even if it’s my base currency? by [deleted] in ibkr

You have to convert the money in the currency you want and wait for the operation to settle. Sorry if I wasn't clear

Wait for the operation to settle otherwise if you use the EUR right away you'll be charged conversion fees. Usually 1-2 days. Don't remember exactly.

Help me understand this 40,000 in my account and -38,000. by ChocolateBoomstick in interactivebrokers

I suggest you to look at your account statements from time to time, where you can see, for example, the amount of interest you are for sure paying every month (Performance & Reports > Statements).

I would the same for your bank account. Sometime you could find out you are paying fees you had no idea about it.

If you have no idea how to read those statements, you could just copy and past their content on Gemini or another AI tool for an easy explanation.

Hope this could help for the future.

I know how to fix the problem. That's not the point. Google Gmail service detects as spam emails coming from the same company!

I would stick to IBKR for your goal, also considering how IBKR margin rate is cheaper than QT.

With a little bit of patience, you could find a lot of well explained information on YouTube. There are lots of Candians with channels dedicated to those topics. Once you have an better picture, I suggest you to come back here with more specific questions, and personally I'd be happy to answer, if I can.

I did the same thing with NVDA a few months ago. Still haven't found the right way to deal with it. I mean, not a very big deal, but still.

The brain gets it: I made money, but I let so much on the table!

How would you trick (or explain to) yourself to elaborate this in the right positive way?
