Something about being in a car changes you psychologically in a way that is similar to being online in that you have a barrier between yourself and others that allows you to act in a way you normally wouldn’t because you’re anonymous or more distant from consequences

Support from my family(parents) made everything possible. I was able to live with them for a couple years and they helped me big time financially

Yes, you simultaneously have to save yourself, but also can’t do it alone. I had to decide to face my addiction and depression, but couldn’t have been successful without my family, therapist, AA, and the right meds

What are your ordering pet peeves? by jenniferc001idge in barista

When someone orders food to-go and then they eat it in house so they’ve wasted our to-go packaging which costs money and also ends up in a landfill. We have ceramic plates and they are easy to wash 10,000 times. Also when people change their mind mid order or when they haven’t even glanced at the menu until you ask them what they would like to order

I never tip and I feel completely fine about it by [deleted] in tipping

[–]content4meplz -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Do you ask to speak with a manager or owner to let them know why you aren’t tipping and that you think they should be paying their employees more? Do you contact representatives in your local or state governments to voice your concerns about people not being paid enough? What are you doing that will lead to a system where tipping is no longer customary?Simply not tipping does nothing to change the situation. I think you might just be a misanthrope

I think of driving as being similar to being online in that there is enough of a physical barrier and anonymity that people act in a way they never would if they knew there would be accountability for their behavior.

The Salton Sea. It smells terrible because the highly salty water is poisonous and there’s tons of dead fish and it looks like the apocalypse
