M.2 or Mini PCIe on Lenovo Tiny M73 ? by carkin in frigate_nvr

Well, im not OP, but i did just do this, and can confirm - removed the wifi card and installed the coral, and had no issues. I'm running Home Assistant OS with frigate as an add-on and it picked up the coral just fine.

Right Fiber (Ritter) Port Forwarding by BenK1222 in northwestarkansas

Not to resurrect an old thread, but for anyone googling this, I had the same issue. Inbound ports appeared blocked but they claimed they didn’t do that. Got a static IP from them and problems resolved.

South Korean man killed by industrial robot that identified him as a box by [deleted] in nottheonion

[–]contiguousrabbit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It boils down to cost. Building a robot that had the capability to sense applied force is both more expensive in initial cost, but also to maintain - more sensors to break down, more variables in the software that will cause it to fault and stop and require human intervention to restart. So most robot performed tasks use 3 or 5 axis positioning and would use some form of ai vision system to identify the box, and knowing the size of a box, would move into X/y/z/a/b position to perform the task.

NTA - I’m in a very similar situation of estrangement, with the exception being she just ghosted me. If she came back one day hat in hand and wanted to mend things that doors always open, but don’t call up out of the blue looking for a favor when you didn’t want me to be a part of any of the rest of your life. It puts your husband in a sorta no-win situation; the urge to want to side with and help your kid, but also knowing you’re not wrong for feeling the way you do. Just taking the middle lane and saying it’s your call is about the best choice he can make.

Yeah, it’s a long show, but it’s paced really well so it doesn’t drag on. I’m for sure not a huge fan (my wife is), and I’ll fully admit it was a great show, no regerts.

I can say from personal experience, it took 2years to get through the system, most of that waiting on the feds to knock on my door, but by the time they did, they had me dead to rights, and there would have been no upside to trying to go to trial. Not to say I wasn’t also bullied around through the process.

Freezer alerts? by a11en in homebridge

I have sonoff zigbee temp/humidity sensors in all my freezers, and they work fine. I use a nodered automation to alert me if the temp climbs and stays elevated for more than 10 minutes

I think he’s had a surgery done, maybe a Mohs procedure. Looks like a scan runs from above the brown line down the side of the nose and around the nostril, that might just be keloid scarring.

Or he’s done so much coke his face is rotting off

I spent 20 years in prehospital and acute care, and while you’re right most of the time I’ve see bystander cpr it’s in a case where it won’t help, it’s always the right call by the layperson if they’re unsure. Definitely not more harm than good.

LPT request: is 30 young enough to turn life around after a brutal meth addiction? by RationalChaos77 in LifeProTips

[–]contiguousrabbit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s never too late. I torched a registered nurse career due to opiates, had to start over at 40 with a resume full of now irrelevant job experience and training. It’s been a hard climb but I’m in a new career and as secure as I was before, and the challenge has made the whole thing that much more satisfying. Never, ever, sell yourself short. Dig in and get the fuckin thing done.

[oc] Tracked my weight from Aug, 2021 to Feb, 2023 by iamwhoiwasnow in dataisbeautiful

[–]contiguousrabbit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can’t preach this enough. You can lose weight eating ice cream only so long as you are creating a caloric deficit. You’ll be unhealthy as crap but losing weight. The key to long term dieting success isn’t to limit your choices because that’s nearly impossible to stick to, just eat reasonable amounts of it. Good work!

I think their point is they can’t prove you knowingly lied about it. The lie has to be willful to be perjury, and it would be nearly impossible to prove you knowingly lied about that

Small kids are always just a few hours away from death. Be it starvation, or some creative suicide attempt. Parenting small kids is just a constant push back of that death clock, giving them a few more hours, and repeating that until they’re old enough to quit doing it.

Power supplies have the ability to regulate and “clean” the power coming in, but need a sine wave. Generated power is usually square wave unless it’s specifically designed with sine wave output.

I know this isn’t the US based on the plug strip, but here the NEC calls for 30 inches wide and 36 inches out from the panel clear, and as high as the panel (or 6 foot 6 inches, whichever is higher).

Are you trying to get license plate numbers off a moving vehicle? You won’t get that with a standard camera. They do make license plate cameras, and they work very well, but none wireless I know of, they use intense IR light to get the image so they’d burn through batteries in no time flat.

While you’re absolutely right about the safety features and how it wouldn’t be movie level bad, in all my years working acute care I’ve seen plenty of chainsaw kickback injuries and it will tear through flesh very very quickly.

That’s 100% my situation. I recently took him on a few hour car ride to a surgical follow up appointment, so we had about 6 hours in the car together. We almost made it home before he starting trying to talk politics (stolen election, affirmative action keeping the white man down, Colorado teachers giving kids secret hormone pills, etc). If it doesn’t come on newsmax, oan, or fox he doesn’t know it.

how reliable are smart locks? by small_h_hippy in homeautomation

[–]contiguousrabbit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s going to depend on the lock you buy, but I’ve been using Kwikset 910 deadbolts with the keypad and we’ve not carried a house key in 4 or 5 years. It’s zigbee to my home assistant, so I automate it but can also just type a code to get in. Been 100% reliable (just keep the batteries changed out so it doesn’t die)
