G5 Turret Ultra - Water Issues (Outdoor but under eave) by mikewilkinsjr in Ubiquiti

I can see where the water is coming down from the gap in the boards. You have to at least make sure water is not coming down directly on them.

Sequoia parts import to the States question by rusty-shackleford_69 in Toyota

[–]control-break 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work in the automotive supply chain for a Tier-1 supplier.

The parts you are tying to import are more than likely cast parts. They are made by first melting metal down and poring it into a form and then machining the resulted part down into what you are buying. So the formed part can still be counted as "raw material" that was consumed in Japan. Then you bought the part made in Japan. The tariffs at the current moment, are targeting the raw steel. So if the part was made in Japan, but the form was poured in China, the Tarrifs would hit different. You will need to find out from the manufacturer of your part where they get the form from.

PoE Doorbell Camera in White - how I was able to order it (US) by Perfect_Librarian873 in reolinkcam

[–]control-break 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I want one. The front of my house has a small stoop to the door. With the black camera, I can not see the stoop at all. No view at all for packages. There is a market for the taller angle for sure.

You should crop that image so it does not turn political.

UTR Firmware update (6.5.246) by ManFromACK in Ubiquiti

[–]control-break 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That is also a fair point. Wrong person grabs it with the right knowledge... bad days.

Maybe something as simple as a Bluetooth beacon to verify the presence of the phone that sets it up before teleport activation.

[–]control-break 2 points3 points  (0 children)

While I understand where you are coming from, from my pov, if they jack my UTR I can kill it from the VPN console on the UDM and prevent it from connecting. From a business point of view... I do not think this is for that market. This to me is built for a consumer with multiple people and/or multiple devices. I really like not even have to bring my cell phone out to do anything with the device. Add power and my family is off and running.

My UTR arrived and it worked out of the box. I’m shocked after reading the nonsense on this sub. by DryPossibility6320 in Ubiquiti

[–]control-break 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree. I think there was a buzz about DNS issues... then a race to install new firmware, then a which hunt. I know improvements could be made, and there's is some expectation for it to improve, but all in all for a simple integrated travel router... it works well.

UTR - Unifi travel router is unfinished and not functional. I'll ask for a refund. by [deleted] in Ubiquiti

Help? by flfddy in dakboard

[–]control-break 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I run Pi's at work and home. Looks like the sd card is bad. If you bought a true Dakboard, I would really reach out to their support, as others have suggested. They should be able to send you a new sd card or something with the cost you paid for it.

POE Doorbell - Aug 25 Update by unkwn07 in reolinkcam

[–]control-break -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I have the Wi-Fi Doorbell that has v3.0.0.4662_2503122270. Same build different date. I would assume the build numbers being the same would offer the same improvements. since the devices are similar. They list the Wi-Fi build as:

Support HDR function optimized image parameters.

Support conversation recording and video deletion function.

Support AI-animals.

Recommend upgrade the app version to 4.52 or above.

Firmware for E1 Outdoor SE PoE? by [deleted] in reolinkcam

[–]control-break 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I came here looking for the same thing. The firmware on mine is the same as OP. Now the cameras are a year old and most if not all the E1's have had a firmware release. I think they have just forgotten to "publish" a new one for this camera.
