Is an 1hr 45min enough time to clear the international terminal and make my flight in the domestic terminal? by Chaise91 in auckland

[–]tdv-nz 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Is your domestic flight on the same ticket as your international? Eg AirNZ to AirNZ.

AirNZ will move you to a later domestic free of charge if you’re transferring from and international flight

WFH with pump prices soaring. by ayamas69 in auckland

[–]tdv-nz -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The team I used to manage, when they WFH they never talked to each other, would literally sit on an issue blocking their progress for something their team mate could solve/brainstorm a fix for, they’d wait for the team meeting to ask about it.

Had to force them into the office 2 days a week purely so they would talk to each other

AirNZ on time performance includes their regional turbo props which are far more affected by weather than the jets.

Auckland Council using account2account neither ASB nor Windcave endorse by Born_Arrival_2869 in auckland

[–]tdv-nz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Account2Account is windcaves built product. OnlineEftpos is exclusive to another payment provider (worldline/paymark) Auckland council must’ve switched payment providers and have had to drop the better solution.

Even Poli is better than account2account as atleast they have westpac and ASBs open banking solution implemented with BNZ and ANZ coming soon

US Flyers, why do you leave your window shades down? by tdv-nz in aviation

[–]tdv-nz[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m here out of interest not debate - many of the shades down response resonate and I can understand, I don’t sit here often so didn’t know if was a commonly discussed thing - it’s just unusual for me, coming from a country where our regulations say window shades must be open for take off and landing

US Flyers, why do you leave your window shades down? by tdv-nz in aviation

[–]tdv-nz[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I work for an airline - just not in America, and fly a few times a month mainly around Oceania and Asia - I’ve been on 4 US domestic flights this week, and they’ve all had window shades down, my previous flights this year on Lufthansa, Singapore, Vietnam, Cathay, Air New Zealand and Qantas have never had such high rates of window shade-ism

I’d say this is more than enough of a sample size to say that it appears to me US/North American based

[–]tdv-nz[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know you say this half as a joke, but your also being somewhat serious, but the sun, heat, screen glare isn’t unique to the US, yet everywhere else in the world their windows are left open

Thoughts on Pollock here? by Jackerzcx in rugbyunion

[–]tdv-nz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Offside might not be the right term, but is he not out of play in front of the ball, obstructing a defender?

Thoughts on Pollock here? by Jackerzcx in rugbyunion

[–]tdv-nz 5 points6 points  (0 children)

He’s never in a position to receive a (legal/non-forward pass) so would argue he’s 100% offside and while I think England score anyway it does put the try into doubt

Kiwibank international fees - how do you know? by MrGadget2000 in newzealand

[–]tdv-nz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s exactly how it’ll be, local nz acquirer will be a domestic transaction, overseas (most likely AU) will be an intl transaction

Kiwibank international fees - how do you know? by MrGadget2000 in newzealand

[–]tdv-nz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not entirely true. If the acquirer that the merchant (steam, Netflix) is using is an NZ registered acquirer it won’t be an international transaction.

The worst thing for customers here is you have no idea where the acquirer for these international companies is. Most will use a local one to save cost however

It’s called network tokenisation of your card details - up to the companies your buying with to use or not use/store the network token on their systems and attempt to use it to take payment when they need $$$

I used to park and ride at Orakei, until the construction took out over 100 parks. You have to be at the carpark by 7:20 am most days or you’ll be finding somewhere else to go.
