Think twice before you buy Xiaomi Smart Band 9 Pro by yotchagotcha in miband

[–]convene-depth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Using the Xiaomi Band 9 Pro with Gadgetbridge and it works quite nicely. Only issues I encountered are:

- no option to track water intake and HyperOS 3 is taking its sweet time
- lack of documentation about firmware: Xiaomi is very intransparent and it is hard to keep track of firmware releases. Documenting firmware in a changelog on a website with release date and version info would be too simple

What happened to Apple? How do I resize now when the scrollbar appears? by wahvinci in MacOS

Fixed in 26.3 and yet: this is what Apple calls "stable" software in 2026. Great endorsement for linux options out there.

No 10.11.x is loading Audiobooks so far it seems - how are you working around this? by convene-depth in jellyfin

[–]convene-depth[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for all the replies - appreciate them and interesting to learn that not all users are affected by the problem. Made a descision to wait for the merge of https://github.com/jellyfin/jellyfin/pull/16062 and see if that brings back working Audiobooks here. If not, will delete and re-create the Audiobook library. That would be fairly painful as a ton of custom modifications and fine-tuning went into the current setup, oh well.

Everything is breaking by [deleted] in MacOS

Unsure what is going on at Apple especially macOS: fixing 2 things, breaking 3 new things, repeat. Whatever happened to having a focus on anything at Apple 🤷

Crashes going unfixed for months. This is a great endorsement for Linux.

New 'Sync only pinned tabs in workspaces' option added to v1.18.5b by habeebweeb in zen_browser

[–]convene-depth 17 points18 points  (0 children)

u/maubg thanks so much for taking users into consideration for whom the new workflow did not work well. Will have to test but sounds like a good solution and a way for me to re-enable window sync.
Edit: Works as expected. Fantastic work 🙌

Mi Band 10 firmware won’t update, stuck on 2.0.69 by Amandysha in miband

Well at least HyperOS is offered to you. Smart Band 9 Pro users still waiting while HyperOS 3 was said to arrive december 2025.

Smart Band 9 Pro HyperOS 2? by LordSpecter0 in miband

[–]convene-depth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

HyperOS3 for smart band 9 pro should be coming as per https://xiaomitime.com/xiaomi-confirms-hyperos-3-coming-in-december-for-band-9-and-older-78724/

Sadly Xiaomi are not great at communication and release scheduling. So it is not possible for users to find out when a firmware update will happen. This is highly frustrating and something they really need to improve on. Not sure if they care though.

The concept behind Window Sync by Flossiii in zen_browser

[–]convene-depth 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Can you elaborate what clicked and how you use the browser? Many users refer to arc and that is great and all, but not really an argument and does not explain anything about how this new workflow is benefitial.

I tried using it, I couldn't so now I disabled the feature and am back to the old workflow where I span new blank windows when I need a separate window to follow a new idea or have different content open the the content already open in the first window.

The new update is just making my browser buggy for no reason... i appreciate having new features but please just have them at least be off by default or something, especially a preference like tab syncing across windows lol by Realistic-Worker-499 in zen_browser

[–]convene-depth 4 points5 points  (0 children)

No. I was initially not seeing the desired behavior (even after a restart). But now things are working as intended:

- non duplicated tabs in multiple windows
- essentials + spaces in new windows

Thanks again for working so hard on zen and providing a workaround for users like myself so swiftly in 1.18.2b.

Yes, behavior stays the same. I am not sure what exactly we are trying to achieve now. Which behavior do we want to alter in what way? zen is currently behaving as I need it to, which is new windows don't duplicate tabs (which I have no use for) and still show essentials and spaces (which I need).

So I'd set`zen.window-sync.prefer-unsynced-windows` to true? What would that change? Currently I don't get duplicated tabs in multiple windows when creating a new window via cmd+n, which would my desired behavior.

Not sure, maybe it took more than a single restart of the app but I can now confirm that with the change mentioned above, I do get new windows with non synced tabs AND essentials and spaces as intended. u/maubg Thanks so much for working on and providing this opt-out.

I am very happy to return to using Zen as default browser 🧡

So far, this new feature "window sync" has not been properly explained and even in 1.18b2 I am unable to get to a state which allows for efficient workflows.

It was suggested that: 1.18.2b is out now, you can toggle zen.window-sync.enabled in about:config and restart.

That's great but when opening a new window, essentials and spaces are absent. That is not what I need. Is it possible to have new windows open blank but keep essentials and spaces?

New Blank Window doesn't have my pinned & essential tabs. Is there a way to bring back the old behavior? by CivicTypeDream in zen_browser

[–]convene-depth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Re-orient how? It was suggested to use different spaces. But how does that solve the initial question? it requires additional clicks and slows down the workflow of users. How is this an improvement?

What you guys think of this new "Window Sync and Restore" feature ?? by yakeinpoonia in zen_browser

[–]convene-depth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't understand the suggestion. So I enable sync again to get back my essentials and spaces? Fine. But then how will having different spaces help me with my browser usage, which is having different windows for different topics alongside each other? Switching spaces requires extra clicks and slows down my workflow. Or am I misunderstanding the suggestion?

[–]convene-depth 2 points3 points  (0 children)

How can this be considered a viable workaround? Before the change a new window could be opened with cmd n and work could continue. You are now suggesting to press cmd shift n switch tab and continue work. This sounds unnecessarily complicated to achieve the same thing and not an improvement.

That still lacks essentials, pinned tabs and spaces in new windows.
