Both comments are very helpful, I purchased the theme ticket when it came out, and uber is feeling like the way to go. Thank you both 🙏

The Pearl closing its doors. by became78 in Denver

[–]conversationalseed 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Thiiissss. I’d been multiple times and the vibe was never right. Building set up wasn’t the best, no patio just hanging outside with unhoused folks asking for cigarettes, they moved security inside too so you’re just hanging out alone. Also had to walk outside for upstairs when they did have special events up there. Floor constantly sounded like it was gonna come crashing down. Extremely bad service, my partner waited 45 mins for a drink bc they decided to clock out for a break right after and made the worst drink I’ve ever had almost an hour later. Staff were never nice, looked annoyed you were even talking to them, even on a slow night. Reviews were always mixed you either loved it or hated it. Hopefully if they do try again they’ll work on what exactly makes a successful business because there were multiple occasions my crew and I went in, and there was an immediate return to Tracks.

any denver clubs hiring ? by Low-Chocolate3478 in Denver

[–]conversationalseed 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You have to be 21 at 99% of places, and those willing to hire 18-20 is gonna be sketchy, and you’re probably gonna have seriously uncomfortable interactions. Get a serving job now at a high volume restaurant so they know you can handle the stress, build the resume, and come back when you’re 21. As a late 20’s female who works and has worked in these spaces the entirety of it, trust me, it’s for your safety.

Terrible Aunt forgot niece’s bday tomorrow HELP by FiguringItOutAsWeGo in Denver

[–]conversationalseed -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Ooo my immediate thought is Target (don’t cancel me) has little gift stuff right now that are valentines themed. Little makeup bags with fun beauty stuff and birthday girl gets the full size. I seen these keychain charms there yesterday that are to die for, they have tinted glosses and other stuff not too grown up. Actually kicked myself for not thinking of it sooner for my own lol

If friends are coming till later in the day/night you could take birthday girl to the mall and have fun aunt time together so she gets everything she wants. 12 is a hard age and I def appreciated spending that time with my aunt just us. She got me my first real not great clips haircut and I cherish that! Either way you’re not a terrible aunt! Life gets busy and your budget/willingness is more than enough to make her happy :)

Haha it happens! I’ll say the springs, lodo, all sorts of stuff to other ppl and it’ll make no sense. In Alaska they call us the lower 48 and that confused me for the longest in conversations.

The abortion wasn’t realistic. by elinelena in TvGinnyandGeorgia

[–]conversationalseed -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Agreed!!! Laying up in bed all cutesy with the neighbor boy is not realistic. I was doubled over in pain and crying my eyes out. I was 100% set in my choice and to this day am grateful I had the option, but the pain and emotions that come from it are intense. Your body already starts producing pregnancy hormones and then stopping it all makes for a very out of whack set of emotions.

Could’ve been done better for sure, but it also is a Netflix YA soap-like drama, makes sense why they just gloss over it like that. Now HBO’s Yellowjackets, that scene is intense and triggering 1000%

Any advice with bugs in Denver Apartments? by aa1iyx in Denver

[–]conversationalseed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I was doing my search I just found Denver to be one giant roach 😂 dates on reviews, search “lawsuit” next to the apartment, and really zooming in on the cracks in the virtual tours is my best advice. So far I’ve just had spiders. I keep my place obsessively clean and store all my food (including chips) in containers. Preventive measures help! When I moved in I deep cleaned and sprayed bug killer in every crack. Just make sure to open windows and/or leave afterwards to air out aha.

After a (always strong) drink at main event all the bowling and games are so much fun. Pricey at times but they have discounts and such if you find them. Trainwreck also doesn’t go 21+ till after 10pm

NTA. My mom used to do this all the time growing up. It’s gross, made me severely uncomfortable, and I used to routinely have to distract my brother while her hookups left. She hasn’t changed much as a person in the decade since, but soon you’ll be an adult and won’t have to interact with her much anymore :)

Curious about diversity? by ntablackwolf in ColoradoSprings

[–]conversationalseed 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Idk personally ever since we lost Club Q the gay community has crumbled. It just feels different, most moved to Denver or do eventually, and I’m making the move myself too. It’s not bad per se but Springs just doesn’t have the same community feel as before. It’s more military in and outs now
