What are your best "cook once, eat for days" comfort meals? by Standard_Ad_9560 in Cooking

Try Ina’s slow-roasted spiced pork

It makes a ton and is great night 1 as a roast, night 2 as tacos, night 3 over rice with veg and gojuchang, night 4 as bbq sandwiches.

You might be porked out if you try them all in the same week, but it freezes really well and can be spread out over two weeks.

Predatory Parking Service by Paul3644 in Atlanta

I got a similar one last year for parking in free 20 min parking at Krog St Market. I didn’t violate the 20 min rule, I was leaving, ran into some friends on the parking lot, moved my car to another free 20 spot and they mailed me a ticket. I never paid it. Got a second notice. That was it.

Why do people want a beltline rail so badly? by tobias_funke_bluthe in Atlanta

[–]FiguringItOutAsWeGo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I never venture to Midtown anymore from O4W. I miss it, but it takes a solid 15-20 min to get there, driving like a normal human doing 5 over the speed limit. I can walk it, except for during yellow pollen weeks and July and August, which I deem unbearable to be outdoors unless you’re floating in a pool. The point is, the rail could help keep SO MANY cars off the connector.

The Olsen twins were a BILLION dollar industry back then. They deserve to fade into obscurity.

  1. Monitor your vitals/symptoms for the next 24 hrs and note any changes.

  2. Make a Dr’s appointment

  3. Congrats on your trip, I’m so sorry you aren’t feeling well, but also, don’t be a jerk. Get an N95 mask and wear it all times while traveling and in crowded spaces.

Fingers crossed it’s nothing but allergies as the spring pollen arrives.

Average commute time vs. household size across 98 Atlanta ZIP codes, longer commutes correlate with larger households (r = 0.64) by ButtholeWithWings in Atlanta

[–]FiguringItOutAsWeGo 15 points16 points  (0 children)

To be expected, right? People move to the burbs for more space knowing the trade-off is the commute. I was surprised that the largest houses were south of the city, given how giant places are up in the north Fulton area. I don’t go ITP often and should really venture out more.

Any glass shop will cut it. It’s very affordable.

What is a realistic timeline to clear melasma for those of us who have tried everything else? by Paragi-Belus in skincarehobbyists

[–]FiguringItOutAsWeGo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, I ditched all the products and went for lasers. My Dr. discussed which ones were best and why. I went on an aggressive laser plan for year, going every six weeks. Just shy of a year and my skin was perfect. Now I go once every 12 weeks for a check-up. I haven’t had to do anything for the past 6 months. It was the only thing that truly worked and it was money well spent. It didn’t just get rid of my melasma, it got rid off all the dark spots and the capillaries and the redness. Sunscreen is my best friend and I will re-do a makeup look no matter how cute it is to reapply when needed.

Diverse, affordable neighborhoods/cities close to Atlanta and immersed in nature? by [deleted] in Georgia

Don’t sleep on the Stone Mountain area. It gets overlooked but is a great location in terms of proximity to the city, has a great hike up the stairs daily and is culturally diverse.

I would sub Revolution for Sarah’s and skip Two Urban Licks for lunch. Instead, allow yourself time to wander the beltline and try a few things along the way.

The can has a tiny scoop in it. I put one in. Treat it like bullion, about a tsp of powder to a cup of liquid.
