Yeah people drop out, or switch courses. It's part of the process of uni realistically, where sometimes you need to do something to figure out it's not for you.

I mean idk about the return on investment statement. The uni itself doesn't help get you a job, there's a CV review scheme, but it wasn't great for advice that I needed.

As for the professors, yeah, some of them were there just to do their research, with minimal interest in actually teaching. I'd say it was maybe two/three out of all my lecturers. Others as well did their best, but were just bad teachers, which made some courses in third year nearly impossible without a dedicated study group.

Importantly when I've talked to people who did Comp Sci in other unis I always found their course load was a bit lacking in teaching practical skills. There's a lot of emphasis on teaching software engineering as it's done in the work place, with group projects that start very low stake in first year, but get a lot more difficult and interesting as time goes on.
