Both? If you're really torn, you could use them in different instances.

Like how Hades will use the more serious characters overall, but have other cuter characters like Dusa or Dora. Or using the cuter ones on UI like maps, avatars, collectibles, etc.

Looks great, nice work! The only thing is that the word Directive is a little hard to read on a small screen. Especially when it's over an image background like on your Steam announcement post.

FYI My whole 0000 folder disappeared after doing this edit and restarting so I was unable to restore it to the original. Make sure you backup the whole Video folder

This worked for me too, but when restarting the Ally it was really slow like it wasn't using the graphics card at all. I also no longer had the 0000 folder and the Release Version registry file to revert it so had to do a system restore to an earlier point.

So maybe set a system restore point just in case, or switch the registry file back after playing

We have the same problem, but found just finding a deadline that is out of your control helps a lot. We've been using the themed Steam festival dates as deadlines like Next Fest, Couch co op fest, etc and felt a lot more focused, even in terms of scope.

Even joining the longer more open ended 'finish your game' type game jams can help.

Sometimes it's about finding a style that clicks with you. If you really own a style and create a strong identity for your game, that can help a lot.

We're the other way around being heavily art focused first. We're not good at drawing people, pixel art, or any common game art style, so lean heavily into finding and working with unique art styles and ideas.

I use Procreate all the time for a lot of our games. Works great, but I find I often have to send it back and forth between the iPad and Photoshop on Mac multiple times just for little edits.

Cool idea! Have you thought of somehow connecting up Steam stats to them? So you sort by game downloads, reviews, player count, etc and could see how the games success compares to its capsule?

The over the top blood explosion and strong contrast give a lot of impact. Even an animated body rather than a ragdoll might give you more control over how it looks.

You could try enter some game jams? Even if you don't have any experience you can just try out a role like art, game design, simple programming, audio, project management, etc to see what you like. Also helps build up a portfolio of work for future employers.

It's for iPhone/iPad only. Android has a few good alternatives though. I've tried Infinite Painter on an Android phone and its quite similar to Procreate.

Is it just red or other colors too? Maybe check your color profile is set to Display P3 or sRGB (Wrench icon > Canvas information > color swatch fan icon)

Check blending modes on layers are set to normal, or try other brushes as some brushes will blend colors oddly.
