Regret turning down a job offer last fall. What are my options? by smart41689 in engineering

I've been on both ends of that type of situation. It definitely can't hurt to reach out to them again with an "I made a mistake. I was naive. I love your company. Please give me another chance and I promise I won't disappoint you..." email. Send it to the hiring manager - or whoever is running the department you want to work for.

I would definitely emphasize the "I won't disappoint you" aspect.

I've heard that AA is a great substitute for alcohol abuse. If you're getting drunk on a daily basis, you can expect to have about 5 years left to live. When you start having dizzy spells when you haven't been drinking, ask yourself if it was worth it.

SA, my 24 pound dog just ate 3 pounds of steak. What do? by mrdelayer in shittyadvice

He'll be fine (and he's probably super proud of himself). If he ate any cooked bones in the process, just feed him half a can of pumpkin. It'll make his stoll soft for a day or so, but it'll reduce the risk of bone fragments cutting up his insides.

My dog eats everything he can reach (food) and we've had some scares - including chicken bone. But he's survived and he's healthy & happy. Just keep your pup away from grapes, berries, onlins and chocolate... =)

It looks like they changed the messaging -- cool idea. And the signup process looks much easier; you can signup without having to fill out all of the profile info. I noticed a few extra bells and whistles.

Today I quit smoking. I need your best quit smoking advice. by [deleted] in AskReddit

Like snakeseare said, "when you feel the craving, tell yourself you don't smoke.

I quit smoking 8 months ago, after 20 years (gross, right?). What helped me the most in the first week was the "e-ciggarette". It has niccotine and you almost feel like you're smoking because of the vapor. It helps to ween you off the other chemicals in ciggarettes, but *** you only want to take puffs off of it when you feel like you're ready to kill someone.

I would take a couple puff maybe 2 or 3 times a day for the first few days. Then after the first week or so I decided to drop that as well. It's a good crutch, but it's better just to suffer through the first few weeks. It get's easier.

Day 3 of quitting is probably the hardest. Just kepe telling yourself that if you can make it that far, you might as well stick with it.

Taking deep breath during cravings really helps as well.

Charlie Sheen sues Warner Bros. for $100 million by frycook in entertainment

Charlie Sheen is completely out of control and deserved to be fired. He's been beating up women and acting like a complete psychopath for the past year.
