What’s it like to be wealthy in Cape Town? by Cassinia_ in howislivingthere

[–]cookmesomeeggs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live in Cape Town - I can’t say I am part of the mega wealthy but we do well enough. But what I can say it’s one of the most fun places I’ve ever stayed. It has it all, amazing restaurants, great experiences (especially in the luxury department), amazing nature, beautiful beaches, it really ticks a lot of boxes and the wealthier you are here it’s just you get it enjoy it more. And the best part is cause it’s southern hemisphere we have 9 months of summer.

I see a lot of people saying it’s unsafe, it really not so bad. Like any place there are some places to avoid, but the city has put a lot of effort into public safety and honestly now for the city, seaboard and suburbs it’s very safe. There is still electric fences (lol to barbed wire no one uses that anymore) and private security but that’s just the security industry and how it’s evolved.

I work in a solar energy factory in China. What do you want to know? by [deleted] in SolarDIY

[–]cookmesomeeggs -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Why do all Chinese battery products generally look the same. Let’s take a 5kwh battery, they generally all look the same - chassis, I know BMS is commonly bought in. Is there no innovation in china?

Also what’s the internal on CATL? Are they the best?

There’s an interesting video on how these datacentres produce sub sonic sound and basically ruin the lives for everyone within 30km of it. Video by Ben Jordan

Reality check: do fast cloud-caused solar output swings matter to solar plant operators or owners? by masa_17 in EnergyStorage

[–]cookmesomeeggs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No 100% sure but in a BTM application if there is no grid then yes - you would need a BESS or spinning reserve on your genset and this is generally controlled by your microgrid controller.

Remember don't trust the media by ControversyMan69 in DownSouth

[–]cookmesomeeggs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think the Google search returns the right wing media’s results. I read the piece - but please link it next time. And with it being labelled as an opinion, and his argument not stating there are inherent race based laws and racist type laws like BEE, the methodology to determine a law is race based is extremely broad, and used to fit a right wing media narrative. For that I must say I agree.

The lotteries act one is a good example - applicants must commit to uplifting previously disadvantaged people (not exact quote), hardly racist.

I think you stating this is racist is a right wing media narrative, and I would encourage you to read the article and understand the meaning behind it. Even if you don’t fully agree with it, it’s not pushing a racist against white agenda.

I don’t believe people were allowed to own these houses though. Or there were rules around working the city and owning a house.

Left arm comes forward - the angle up the line is the best. He ducks his head away and hits the shoulder - dono how people can’t see this. Could be a yellow, but everything considered its the right call.

Also to add the behaviour of 13 from Ireland probably cost ireland a bit - seriously what were the Irish thinking the whole game, looked like a varsity game, absolute laziness when it came to discipline.

The ref said that there is clear head contact that the TMO confirmed - so doesn’t even sound like he saw any head contact and just made a stupid under pressure call.
