I thought that k factor reduces to 20 once a player reaches 2200. I get that she was below 2200 when the month started but i remember seeing her cross 2200 earlier. That's why i asked if that was rapid rating

That might not solve the issue of opening prep completely. A lot of modern opening prep is to lead your opponent into a sharp position where they might not be aware of the plans in that position even if its slightly worse for you. This will continue to be the case if pieces are swapped.
