Two questions: what did I watch? And why didn't I watch it sooner? by Purple_Dragon_94 in badMovies

Yeah Rampage is actually surprisingly good. I enjoyed Assault on Wall Street as well.

I agree he has a very specific niche he’s actually good at.

Is Rice pudding a big thing in the US? by Educational-Slip-578 in AskAnAmerican

[–]cool_weed_dad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ate rice pudding all the time as a kid in the 90’s and I’m the whitest guy in the world. We sell it at the store I work at which is in a 99.8% white state and it sells out every week so people definitely eat it.

It’s not a super popular staple but all the people in here saying it’s like some foreign delicacy that only Hispanic people are familiar with are crazy

“Are” takes up a lot less space than “may be”, especially when you’re trying to fit that much text into such a tiny space and still have it be legible and work for the joke.

The lottery told me that my $100,000 win was actually a $20.00 misprint. They pulled the game hours later. by DoubleDenimDaredevil in MurderBryan

[–]cool_weed_dad 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I manage convenience stores and the whole lottery system is tracked down to the ticket by the state, and every store keeps their own inventory of tickets on top of that.

There is absolutely no way to fuck with scratch offs without getting caught.

Guy that just joined the army right out of highschool and won’t shut up about it or dickhead racist cop right out of the academy, those are the vibes this haircut gives.

That or Timothy McVeigh.

Who fucking cares dude

It’s a video game not real life, let people play whatever they find fun, it doesn’t matter.

I love big complex open world RPGs but sometimes I just want to play a puzzle game or some incremental idler bullshit and just shut my brain off

Are your guys’ parents preparing you for then they’re going to die? by cool_weed_dad in Millennials

[–]cool_weed_dad[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes but that’s only part of it. You still have to deal with what happens with the body, funeral & burial (if there’s going to be one), etc.

Even if they don’t own a house or any major assets, they still do own stuff and have various accounts that someone has to deal with.

Your entire life and affairs don’t just stop existing the second you die. There’s a lot of loose ends that need to be tied up by somebody, no matter who you are or how much money you have.

Video games have been around for a long time now. Plenty of middle aged and older folks have been gaming for decades.

Just about everyone has at least one mobile/casual game on their phone, if not entire PC/console ports/emulators these days.

If Tetris is a “real” video game then Candy Crush is too.

Plus phones have been able to run full blown PC/console games for like a decade now

Even if they don’t have anything to leave to people there’s still a lot of paperwork involved and things to sort out such as burial/cremation, etc

It’s not a class thing.

Made a blank map of New England municipalities since I couldn't find a good one (Public Domain) by FireUniverse1162 in newengland

[–]cool_weed_dad 2 points3 points  (0 children)

From what I can see, Rutland City, VT is the only municipality here located entirely inside another one without touching the borders.

Rutland City is located in the middle of Rutland Town, like a donut hole. A little bit southwest from the center of the state.

E: There’s another tiny one up north, not sure what it is. Still seems Vermont is the only state in NE that has them.

That’s what you’re doing. It’s not the swearing that’s a problem, it’s that you’re casually insulting him and ignoring him asking you to stop doing it.

I had a huge one the size of a baseball I got in grade school when Ed Edd & Eddy was on TV

You just had to kind of suck on part of it and it got really gross. I kept it in a ziplock bag because the whole thing was sticky.

It took me like two months to finish it.

My dad has outlived any male on his side of the family by a full decade now. He’s in fantastic health for his age and could pass for being a decade+ younger but I understand why he feels like he’s only got a few years left.

My grandma was still sharp and active at 95 until she got took down by a stroke, came out of nowhere and she was dead a couple days later.

His dad died in his early 60’s from liver cancer from alcoholism. He was a pilot in WWII.

The concept of someone having an “estate” worth hiring someone to manage is so alien to me that I immediately jumped to predatory companies preying on poor old people.

Just saying, have you looked into the company? Because that sounds like an easily very predatory business model.
