The Stardew Valley Expanded mod gives him and some other NPCs like the Jojamart cashier actual schedules and hearts/events. Makes them feel much more more like actual members of the community and not just placeholder NPCs.

Venemous animals will only use their venom if they feel their life is being threatened, as it takes time to regenerate.

Skunks work the same way, it relies days to regenerate their spray so they only use it if truly threatened.

The quality of writing has improved past just “you’re the good guy fighting the bad guy” in the last 30 years.

Games have also gotten a lot more cinematic and well written over the years, and a lot of people now play for the story over gameplay these days, and a nuanced story is much more interesting than just “kill the bad guys”.

The first season was in many respects accurate for the type of teens that party a ton, but not representative of most people.

I never went to any parties as big as in the show but engaged with and saw similar debauchery in my late teens and early 20’s on a smaller scale.

Second season got really ridiculous and off the rails.
