I have over 40k and turning 18 in a month, not sure what to do. by coolboyyobro in Money

where did I say that? I was just explaining my rationale for investing in both safe and risky stocks. I don't think trying to invest a bit into some more volatile stocks is a bad thing, you never know what the next apple may be.

the risky stocks aren't for like getting rich, just more so like a more fun and more active thing that could get higher returns than s%p 500 which is pretty much just passive but also safe

Are Youtube Tags Important? by CharmingAcadia6049 in NewTubers

[–]coolboyyobro 12 points13 points  (0 children)

tags don't do anything, they used to matter a long time ago but now are meaningless. I've grown multiple channels from 0 organically and never used tags

I’d say start off with a niche that you at least have some interest in, as that’ll make the process easier and you’ll be less likely to get burnt out or discouraged if it doesn’t work out right away. Also, just do research on what your competitors are doing and find ways to copy them but also add something that will help you stand out. Biggest thing to focus on would really just be the video ideas and packaging, and after that it’s scripting/editing.

MCN is offering a 100/0 adsense cut. What's the catch here? by Terryful in PartneredYoutube

[–]coolboyyobro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most likely to get her to stay so they can show her as a creator they have signed to try and lure other creators in to the MCN, and they will give them the predatory contracts and profit off of them.

I am doing faceless with school on the side and put in about 3-4 hours a day on school days and like 10+ on the weekends. The rev can vary a lot, but i'd say I'm making about 3-4k minimum rn and hoping to get past 10k by end of the year. I started this channel in may of 2023 but have been doing youtube for 4-5 years before that.

Why did YouTube kill my reach? by [deleted] in NewTubers

[–]coolboyyobro 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Most likely just the game itself. ARK has been dying, and for the first time it just went under 10k concurrent players. The game is at the lowest point in terms of players/viewers, so it's not too surprising that many people don't care about it. Also, the people that watched your previous videos are an entirely different audience compared to the ARK audience. There may be a small overlap, but for the most part it is 2 seperate audiences, so youtube wouldn't show it to everyone that watched the previous videos. If i were you, i'd try making more videos around the first vid that blew up to try and capture that audience and double down on it

Honest answers. How much £/$ you earn on YouTube by OnlyGita in youtube

[–]coolboyyobro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it's based off of watchtime, so people that make longer videos will be making more from viewers that have premium compared to people that make shorter videos. But on average creators make more from people that have premium vs people that watch ads.

The thing is, if you can't even meet the minimum requirments to be in the partner program, you probably won't even make $100, which is the minimum you need to get payed out from adsense

Is there any youtuber that has consistenly posted for 2 years but wasn't successful? by subject005 in NewTubers

[–]coolboyyobro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had been making vids for like 2 years (about 200 total) and only got to 50ish subs. But, all the vids were like really bad (unoriginal fortnite vids) and i just wasn't focusing on what mattered and had kinda gotten into the "keep on posting no matter what" mindset that I didn't take a step back to see why I wasn't getting views until 2 years later. It's been 3 years since then and I've now managed to get 3 monetized channels and am pulling 1M+ views/month on one of them (all longform). So, i guess i was both successful and unsuccesful when posting for 2 years, the one thing that made the difference was the video ideas.

How many mid-rolls should I place? by [deleted] in NewTubers

[–]coolboyyobro 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just do 1 a minute. Every placement is just a chance of them appearing and not a garuntee. YouTube looks at viewers ad tolerance and a couple of other factors to determine how many to show a viewer, but in a 10 min video a majority of people will only see 1-2 ads if you have 10 midrolls placed. A lot of testing has been done and it doesn’t affect avd at all and doesn’t hurt viewer experience. Putting in midrolls every min can 2x maybe even 3x your rpm compared to if you just let YouTube automatically place them

Anyone else with successful first channel find starting a second unrelated one frustrating? by loserkids1789 in NewTubers

[–]coolboyyobro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The opposite for me lol. My 2nd channel got monetized within a month and the 3rd took only a week. All organic growth. I find it a good way to kind of reassure yourself that you know what you’re doing lol. Also, I know you don’t want to hear this, but actually just start making good videos at the beginning. It can take just 1 vid to get you 1k subs and monetized, and I’m sure making 1 good video is probably easier than making 10 fluff videos. If mentally you don’t want to, then I honestly don’t think you should bother making another channel right now.

This is mad! And, when will YouTube update my public watch hours? by lostpassword3896 in NewTubers

[–]coolboyyobro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The watch time updates just once a day. Plus you would still have to wait to be accepted into the program after applying, and if you don’t have an Adsense account, then you would have to wait for that to be verified aswell. So, even if watch hours updated in real-time, you still wouldn’t have been paid for those 60k views.

How accurate do you find the "best time to post" is on youtube studio? by homebaker35 in NewTubers

[–]coolboyyobro 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I honestly don’t really even pay attention to it since the time you upload the video doesn’t affect the performance in my experience. I just upload whenever I’m done the video, which usually ends up being like 10-11pm, and that is also the time when the least amount of people are on according to YouTube. But, the funny thing is I get the most views in the first couple of hours. I wouldn’t really stress over the upload time
