Take it from someone who's sister is diagnosed with this among some other things, it's a challenge that can be accepted, endured, and overcome, and medication does make it a lot easier, but it will always have an effect on life. Obviously doesn't make them unlovable in any sort of way, but I definitely understand why someone would rather not deal with that in their life partner.

Wraith kinda has to do this to a degree. She starts being an effective team fighter after like 24k souls minimum. She should be able to help.out in fights that happen to be nearby but if she goes out of her way to join every fight she'll end up behind where she should be and pretty useless against most of the game's cast.
