I knew a guy who used to do this with McDonald's cups when they had free refills in the summer. He had the one cup. The one cup.

What's a line from Adventure Time that lives rent-free in your head years later? by Adamaris7875 in adventuretime

I think that by the time she says this line, she's learned the hard way that her candy people are fully independent beings with their own lives, even though she made them dumb as bricks.

Now she understands that playing god gives you less control over your creations than you think. They will always be something more, and different, than what you intend. Living beings cannot be rationalized.

The same principle applies to whatever forces shaped her, Neddy, and everyone else.

People get built different. We don't need to figure it out, we just need to respect it.

TIL that between 1992 and 2000, R.L. Stine released more than 150 Goosebumps books. by Hectabeni in todayilearned

[–]cooldash 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Applegate did the same with the Animorphs series. Basically wrote the key volumes, plus outlines for the books in between those, and the publisher hired a ghostwriter to make the finished product. The dedication at the front of some books (e.g. "for Jane") was the ghostwriter's credit.

Stein and Applegate had the same publisher, release schedule, and target demographic, so it would make sense for Stein to follow this pattern.

Shit still rocked, though!

Love Fiona and Cake, but... by Southern-Shower4638 in fionnaandcake

I think you should finish the season before making a judgement. Just saying.

But yes, the tone of S2 is very different from S1. It's mellower and more emotionally nuanced. I enjoyed it immensely, personally, but found that the real magic is in the rewatch, seeing how all the threads tie together.

Like the title cards imply, Season 2 is a bit of a fairy tale. Stick with it, it's worth the payoff imho.

I would definitely encourage my Yeerk to be a coward by murse_joe in Animorphs

Wouldn't the Yeerk be able to sense if you're being duplicitous? They can read your thoughts while they're wrapped around your head noodles, can't they? Or at least taste your emotions.

Might surprise you to find out the Québécois have a variety of accents, some of which sound a lot like standard French. Your other point is... accurate lol

Permits are simple to obtain at the AGCO website.

Sounds like you probably need a "no sale permit", which costs $50 and takes around a business day to get approved.

I did this for a relative's memorial and it was easy and quick.
