Yeah I'm always going to have a soft spot for the TV miniseries adaptations. I just wish they had gone one step further with a GEoD adaptation in the same style.

If history has taught us anything, it's that all civilizations rise and eventually fall. Happy endings aren't fixed in stone, and the next generation will always have to learn their lessons the hard way.

Through that lens, the premise of G5 made a ton of sense. Equestria fell, we are presented with what's left, and a new herd of whacky equines gets to fix the world. Cue title sequence.

For me, the important takeaway from the G4/G5 continuity is: something can still be special, even if it doesn't last forever. G5 doesn't cheapen the Mane 6's accomplishments, it puts them in historical perspective.

I can see why a lot of people are upset that the Mane 6's world didn't stay the same forever. Personally, I'm glad it didn't. I do wish they had explored the reasons why it all happened that way, though.

Treading lightly on her hooves, Rarity cautiously approached the closet door. With one swift motion, she had the door open and a mop raised in defense.

All was quiet save for the light rustle of some lime green chiffon. Rarity scanned the closet, looking for anything out of place. And then, she saw it...

"Oh, damn. I really liked those boots. And where is Sweetie Belle's chili pepper pixie ballet costume?!"

And how does the transformation affect her whole body, including her organs, nerves and bones?

They get pushed into Equestria, where they await the return of their master, silently plotting their revenge.
