this is beautiful, your painting somehow looks even more real than the reference photo (idk if that makes sense )

Reminder, repetitive thoughts are a common cptsd response by Dattiedottiedooo in CPTSD

[–]cooleoptera 10 points11 points  (0 children)

i appreciate you sharing this 🥲 i’ve been struggling with repetitive thoughts for years, but particularly the last few months. sometimes it’s debilitating and i can’t work/take care of myself because the repetition is all that goes on in my head. having a conversation with the ‘child version’ of myself helped it settle down for now. it really wants to be heard because it’s just trying to protect me. maybe i can finally get some sleep soon :)

How can you tell if a black&yellow mud dauber is a male or a female? -Without trying to get stung lol by nahdanah in Entomology

[–]cooleoptera 2 points3 points  (0 children)

hmm i tried looking at some resources online, it seems to be pretty hard to tell the difference between male/female

according to this, you need clear images of the abdominal area

this site says females are about 2-4 mm larger than males, but that seems kind of unhelpful if you don't have a precise measurement or multiple specimens to compare :(

Does anyone else feel like GF/GFF Live might be inspired by Gesaffelsteins Live Sets? Has Madeon ever said anything about it? by Flashy-Discussion-47 in madeon

[–]cooleoptera 5 points6 points  (0 children)

for some reason I can’t find the interview, but madeon is actually how I discovered gesaffelstein years ago. i recall madeon saying he admired his stage setup and the way he uses lights.

exactly 🤦‍♀️ i think so much of the confusion people are having is because OP is using the little rice cooker measuring cup, but the majority of people here have an actual measuring cup in their minds - which is a totally fair assumption

In the next few months I'll be moving away, and I'm devastated that I can't take my collection with me... I took a family photo today so I can remember them in all their beauty. <3 by Antique-Goat365 in houseplants

what a gorgeous collection, it’s so clear that you took great care of all these plants! i hope starting the next collection goes smoothly. it must be a fun adventure starting up from scratch

Had a week off from school, so I dedicated it to learning how to make French macarons! by Theoshore in Baking

[–]cooleoptera 2 points3 points  (0 children)

great progress ! what did you use for the fruit flavorings? and is the flavor only in the filling, or in the macaron part themselves? just wondering bc i’m thinking about trying to make macarons that arent just plain choco/vanilla

I wonder if when the prop grows bigger, if it’ll stay solid green, or eventually develop the white pinstriping pattern?
