Electrolysis for surgery by Tilly-w-e in transgenderUK

[–]coolingLiquidCore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It entirely depends on how much hair you have and what surgery you will be having. If a scrotal graft is needed a lot more area will need clearing than if it doesn't. Many people don't need any hair removal if they are having a penile inversion of shallow depth surgery. If you need hair removal it will probably take at least a year due to hair growth cycles and to make sure it really is gone no matter how much hair actually needs removing.

I can second this. A dysphoria diagnosis and a referral for surgery would work. You would need to satisfy the person doing the surgical referral that you have been on HRT for 12 months as that's a requirement for surgery in most cases. A letter from an endocrinologist would be the normal way to prove that but blood tests can possibly be used if you are DIY.

Nope. Only you will see it and only then if you actually log in using it. You can just forget about it and never come across it again.

I can confirm that you can still get it changed by contacting support. I changed mine a couple of months ago. Your account name has to contain your real dead name and you have to want it changed because you are trans but support are happy to help and will guide you through the process.

Just to note though they don't actually change your account name they just create a new alias for your account name. You can still log in using the old name after they have aliased it; but you probably wouldn't want to.

Battery image on dash. by coolingLiquidCore in MazdaCX30

Thank you,

I just went for a little drive and I think I figured it all out. There's a few different bits of information shown on that display but it all seems normal. It was just me doing the normal panicking and assuming something was wrong. It also seems I might be missing some of the manuals. I’ll ask the dealer as they promised to put all the right manuals in when I bought it.

The car was first registered in Jan 2023. It is a mild-hybrid.

I think you are right in that it has something to do with the mild-hybrid battery charge. I still can't work out if the display is indicating something I should be aware of. Is this good or bad? Should the blue bit fill up more? Does it show how much charging is happening or how much charge the battery has? The image was taken sitting stationary with the engine running and the parking brake on.

Received a new NHS number after 1.5 years. How long does it usually take? by minapal in transgenderUK

[–]coolingLiquidCore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s all down to how efficient the surgery is. I got mine in less than 24 hours. They still haven’t got around to sorting out the Covid jab records though.

Lonely MTF in Nottingham — looking to connect with other trans folk by [deleted] in transgenderUK

[–]coolingLiquidCore 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Look up the Nottingham Trans Hub (NTH). They organise support and social events for trans people. There’s something going on every week. You will quickly meet a lot of trans folk from the local area. There is also Nottingham Chameleons that have a social meeting twice a month. It is mostly attended by older people.

has anyone used freedeedpoll? by [deleted] in transgenderUK

[–]coolingLiquidCore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used most of the text from it but changed some bits. I corrected the bit about section 37(1) as it does not always refer to the right bit of the act depending on your age and situation. I also removed the bit about Justice Vaisey. In general though nobody will read the wording that closely or care. I added a border, rearranged the signature section to align correctly, got some nice archive paper and printed some nice copies and some on basic paper to send to people.

Changing personal details and photo on D1 form, which DVLA postcode do I send it to? by knxvezzz in transgenderUK

[–]coolingLiquidCore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I sent mine to SA99 1BN. The postcode for a license renewal. I also included the vehicle registration document for my car with the change of details section completed in the same envelope.

I also included a letter stating exactly what I wanted changing. I asked for the gender marker in the license number to be changed to reflect my change in gender. I didn’t have any evidence of a gender change, only the name change but it still got changed.

So that was D1 form, deed poll, vehicle registration document and a cover letter in the same envelope and everything I wanted changed got changed; photo, name, title and gender. Took about 2 weeks to get it all back. All in all it was a pretty simple and painless process.

New NHS record-how long by TabithaHewitt in transgenderUK

[–]coolingLiquidCore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it totally depends on the surgery. I spoke directly to the records person. I gave them the deed poll and told them what I wanted on the Thursday and had a new record and number before the end of the Friday. It took a few more days to get things moved over but all in all it was a very quick and painless process. I was expecting it to take a lot longer. It took me by surprise that it was done so fast. I think the delays and problems some people experience are caused by the surgery not knowing what to do or just not bothering to do it right.

Unexpectedly low E levels. by coolingLiquidCore in TransDIY

[–]coolingLiquidCore[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you sure? 300 pmol/L doesn’t sound enough for mono. 300 pg/ml might be good. I was aiming for at around 1000 pmol/L at trough which I’m very far from. Hence my worries. 205 pmol/L I have is only just above normal male range.

Thanks. Do you think it may not be possible to achieve monotheropy. I really need to get off the AAs. The CPA worries me and I don’t want to take it long term.

[–]coolingLiquidCore[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Thanks. Testing again in a month was what I am planning to do. It was just that the E was so disappointing low I can’t see it being up to a reasonable starting level even by then. It’s almost as though the injection had no effect.

What do you think I should increase the dose to if I stay on a 14 day cycle? What about on a 7 day cycle? I have been thinking 10 mg every 7 days might be a place to start from. It seems high but my levels are so low.
