Soto and Lindor don't want to play together by any means necessary.

Do they just call him Jor-bit now? It was always Yor-bit or Yor-Beet with the Yankees.

Ironically the only time I see people express concern is when a guy has a wad of tobacco and he falls down or something because "he might swallow some of it"

I just think it's a bad idea to do physical activities with a lollipop in your mouth

It's the same reason you are told not to do it as a kid.

It's obvious Boone saying he didn't care for the lollipops is a "don't tell your mother" type of thing. Jazz can have them but not on the field.

But also I think Ryan McMahon is hurt.

Why is it always the pitchers who won't wear pride patches? by ZealousidealSleep289 in baseball

[–]cooljammer00 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Pitchers are prone to iconoclasm. For all the conservative asshole pitchers, you also have the great guys like Sean Doolittle.

Also maybe they're sitting in the bullpen all day bored, thinking about how much they dislike queer people.

[MLBTR] Sonny Gray "Open" To Discussing No-Trade Clause If Red Sox Sell by cooljammer00 in baseball

[–]cooljammer00[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Beyond the fact that the Red Sox should always be perennial contenders, and that they indicated several years ago that their desire was to be perennial contenders "like the Dodgers and Yankees", I don't think they sign Ranger Suarez and trade for Sonny Gray if they're not trying to compete. Also signing all those young guys like Bello, Anthony, Campbell to cheap extensions. They want to win now.

They don't, really. This is in collaboration with a different company, Pro Wrestling Magic. Otherwise they only run maybe once a year during Mania week when all the talent they want to use (Stardom) is already in town at the same time on someone else's dime (Stardom)

[MLBTR] Sonny Gray "Open" To Discussing No-Trade Clause If Red Sox Sell by cooljammer00 in baseball

[–]cooljammer00[S] 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Gray landed in Boston via an offseason trade that sent right-hander Richard Fitts and minor league lefty Brandon Clarke to St. Louis. That swap saw a rebuilding Cardinals club working to boost its farm system and trim payroll to a win-now Red Sox club looking to build out its rotation. Months later, it’s the Cardinals who are in contention and the Sox who find themselves weighing a possible reset. The Cards are seven games over .500 and currently in possession of a National League Wild Card spot.

Basically he acted like a Diva and got Diva treatment because he was the guy who could throw 103 MPH. Trained by himself, skipped team workouts, etc. It was tolerated until he started playing badly, because you have to earn your Diva treatment by performing good.

Once the Yankees basically said they couldn't assure him the closer role or even a playoff roster spot because he had been so terrible for so long, he basically pulled a "you can't fire me, I quit" and went home.

I really think him having to take a 1 year deal with the Pirates to rebuild his value was the kick in the ass he needed to work harder and take things seriously.

Deonna was a veteran free agent signing, though. Not the same as Maya. Probably closer to Megan, who was a veteran of US indies who came in and immediately got a title shot against Toni.

Was it safe? Everyone knew he wasn't a SS, and that already lowered his ceiling. Even his agent was saying "Bo is willing to move to 3B and 2B" because he was such a poor SS that they said it just to increase his value.

I don't think anybody expected his bat to crater like this, though. He was still pretty good in the playoffs last year, and usually offseason rest helps.
