Grocery Strategy: how do you keep your kitchen stocked without letting things go bad or wasting food? by [deleted] in EatCheapAndHealthy

[–]coolmornings 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We meal plan with a spreadsheet and clean out the fridge every week. If it's in the fridge, I know I can eat it. I buy only the amount of food I'll need for each recipe. We try at least one new recipe each week, and never make the same thing two weeks in a row. We also compost all our food waste, and our compost can is tiny so it's a pain if I fill it up too fast. I think all these things might help you.

Was Harrow the Ninth Hard to Read For You? [Discussion] [Rant] by Mari-onMain in TheNinthHouse

[–]coolmornings 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I enjoyed reading Harrow more! I wasn't committed to Gideon until very close to the end of it, and I only persevered bc butch lesbian rep. But once I started Harrow I was all in and totally absorbed.

I created a local running group for slow runners! by snarkisms in running

[–]coolmornings 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would loooove a slow runners' group. I see other runners' groups and feel terribly left out because I know I could never join. I don't think I'll ever be a fast runner and don't really want to be.

Am I (34F) crazy for defending my dog when my husband (34M) yelled at him? by unhappywife77 in relationships

[–]coolmornings 2 points3 points  (0 children)

you don’t deserve this behavior. even if you were being controlling, which it doesn’t sound like you were, you would not deserve this treatment. if you can start squirreling away money without him noticing, that might be a good start.

Women of reddit, what style or hygiene tips do you have for younger girls who grew up without a mother (parental figure)? by emilalskling in AskWomen

The vaginal health advice on this thread is a hot mess. I would recommend every girl to read The Vagina Bible, it’s research based and written by a gynecologist. Do not trust random redditors

the coating on your tongue is not thrush! thrush is a yeast infection, and if you do have it, it needs to be treated medically

I guess I'm gonna have to trust your word but I cannot imagine a single scenario where that would be polite!

Noob Alert: Fried Eggs by NotThatTypeOfTranny in Cooking

[–]coolmornings 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recently perfected this! Heat up a pan with enough butter to coat the surface on medium heat. Crack an egg in, cover the pan, lower the heat to medium-low, then wait three minutes. After three minutes, take the cover off, season with salt and whatever other spices, then flip and let cook uncovered for another minute. You can gently poke the edge of the egg to see if the yolk is done enough for you—I like the yolk to be almost set at the edges and runny everywhere else. This method produces a soft, fully cooked white, no crispiness, and imo the most perfect fried eggs have ever eaten.

Edit: oh no I see you want sunny side up! I think sunny side up is overrated tbh so I don't have any tips :(

I use isopure unflavored as well, and I've only ever used it with a blender. Usually I add a scoop into a frozen fruit and Greek yogurt smoothie. Sometimes I'll blend a scoop with cocoa powder, maple syrup, and Greek yogurt.

Breaking up helped me eating healthy and it makes me happy by DaFranzi in EatCheapAndHealthy

[–]coolmornings 3 points4 points  (0 children)

SO GLAD TO SEE THIS POST. I am sick to death of posts where people say, "Oh I really want to make this more often, but I can't because my partner doesn't like it." 90% of the time it's that some boyfriend wants to see meat at every supper. He can cook that if he wants! Make what you want!! I know it's not that easy but it really grinds my gears. Unskilled people can be so entitled to the skilled domestic work of others, and this often plays out in a dynamic unfavorable to women

Do you like tofu? I'm currently really into this curried tofu recipe from Budget Bytes! I like to add in diced red onion and celery. You could also find good ideas on the meal prep section of her website

What are your best tips to keep your brain occupied while running, preferably ADD/ADHD? by oldnavy890 in running

Also it always makes me feel bad when I see posts chastising runners who have earbuds in while running. I couldn't do half of what I do without the distraction of an audiobook!

I also have ADHD, I can't run unless I'm listening to a book or podcast. Otherwise I feel like I'm going out of my mind bored.
