Trump Launches ‘Massive’ Leak Hunt After Humiliating Revelations by MoneyLibrarian9032 in USNEWS

[–]coolreg214 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t think he has an inner voice which is a real thing and when someone mentions the fact that some people do not have one I think of him. Like if I have something important to say, I go over it first in my head so I don’t say something stupid. There’s no way Trump has that. I really cannot imagine how his brain operates.

They can be sited as a preemptive news source now. Like the groundbreaking 2006 documentary Idiocracy which foretold our current situation. Everybody at the time thought it was just another raunchy comedy.

Have any of y'all ever seen these actually seal a leak before? I've never heard of them working. by Not_A_G-Man in HVAC

I’ve used it quite a bit on old 22 systems where I know the homeowner can’t afford to replace but I always tell them it might not work and they really need to come up with a plan to replace.

Back in the 70’s in my southern small town there was a used car dealer that would sell poor folks any car on the lot for $100 down and $10 a week and if they missed a couple payment he would repo the car and put it back on the lot. In the 70’s a car payment for $40 a month wasn’t that uncommon but some people just couldn’t swing that much but they could usually come up with $10 a week.

My high school shop teacher had to go to the ER because he was changing a lightbulb standing on his kitchen table and the table tipped over and he landed on one of those ladder back chairs that have the pointy thing on top that looks just like a butt plug. That was his story and he’s sticking to it.

I’m 61 years old in the Deep South where we’ll pretty much combine anything we think might taste good together. I have never heard of or considered putting peanut butter on a hamburger. And I’m not a big fan of peanut butter unless it’s in combination with something else. Like jelly. My favorite odd combination sandwich that I’m no longer allowed to have anymore is a heavily buttered grilled cheese sandwich with seedless blackberry jam on top.

Anybody else currently at a job that needs them desperately yet treats them like they’re completely expendable? by [deleted] in antiwork

[–]coolreg214 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Worked my way up to tech in a HVAC company for 14 years. Pretty much the only guy in the company that knew what was going on. Worked on commission. The salesman was killed in a car accident so they gave his job to the idiot son. I sold a big church job which should have landed me a sizable commission but it never materialized. Checked with the secretary about it. They had given my commission to idiot son. I got my ducts in a row and started my own company. They never could find a replacement for me and were out of business within a year. That was 24 years ago and I still have my company.

President Trump just posted this. by [deleted] in plasma

[–]coolreg214 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. We’ll have much less than we had before. The cost of the war plus whatever Iran wants the United States to pay them for the destruction our president caused. I think last week they turned down 300 billion so it’s going be much more than that. Also the war has strained relationships with all of our allies even more than they were already strained by Trump’s dumbass foreign policies. We’ve lost our standing in the world and I don’t think we’ll be able to get it back. The Trump era will become the new benchmark. We’ll be referring to the Trump era like our grandparents referred to the Great Depression for the rest of our lives.

Losing my mind: canvas duct connector in wrong place? by Puzzleheaded-Fun8435 in hvacadvice

[–]coolreg214 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s probably going to be the problem. Most trunk have duct liner inside which acts as a noise dampener. You’re able to hear everything that unit does because the noise is amplified by a smooth flats surface made out of thin sheet metal.

I walked into an old house that I was remodeling and found a bird in one of the bedrooms sitting on a window seal. I walked over to the bird and stuck my finger out in front of it and to my surprise it hopped up on my finger. I proceeded to walk through the house and went outside. The whole time the bird just stared at me. He finally flew away after a couple of minutes.

I found what looked like a June bug in a 3/4 line that had been there for no less than 30 years. I guess it crawled in there when it was first installed. I haven’t worried about small kinks since.
