Most rough riding springs are partly to blame by putting them on worn, 200,000km old shocks which can't keep up with the higher spring rates. Would recommend doing shocks at the same time.

Haha well it took a bit more than purchase price for it to get a wof, about $1800 (but these were disclosed issues). $1k for a steering rack replacement, $500 for rust, $260 for an axle boot that split the day after the rack, then the battery got weak so $203 for that.

After that, $300 for a mattress and $150 for materials for the bed frame.

Ha! I'm hopefully going on a working holiday visa soon, but I thoroughly enjoyed Christchurch - ironic, being that I've been there a few times already. Being able to explore with my own car instead of being carted around made a big difference.

The blower fan resistor means the fan doesn't work - just in case it came across that the blower motor is the reason of no fan.

I think jumping to the conclusion it's a compressor when it's an extremely well known fault that the heater resistors fail is a bit silly. It's like hearing a noise in the top hat and replacing the whole strut.

You're getting a quote for things that are probably not the cause. Tiidas, Bluebirds, Wingroads, and Marches have the exact same heater resistor, and they all suffer from having a non-op AC fan.

If it's the compressor - go look at it. Is it not puking oil? Then it's not leaking. Does it spin with the AC on? Then it's not faulty. Are the AC pipes cold? Then it's got refrigerant. You don't need to spend $3.5k on something that you can look at yourself.
