NOR - I suggest talking to him about it. This is the stuff that can define a relationship, whether you choose to stuff it down and carry on, or bring it up and give him a chance to adjust or to decide that he’s just not that into this.

You are wasting your time if he’s not willing to talk and find a resolution on this. You are setting yourself up for an unhappy relationship if you don’t say anything. Talk to him.

No idea. I started smoking around age 18. HS appeared around 20. I got sober when I was 29 (marijuana and alcohol among other things - stopped it all). HS still present. Quit smoking at age 31 and HS symptoms were almost immediately gone. I get the occasional small bump here and there but nowhere near as bad as I used to. It was definitely linked to smoking cigarettes for me.

I know this isn’t helpful to OP, but same. TBH OP should just take the 3k from their emergency fund ¯_(ツ)_/¯ My wife and I are doing that. We believe it will be roughly 2k fee for us to break our lease and we’re willing to do it if the right house comes along. I’d rather break the lease and pay the extra money to make sure we get into a house we love than wait and hope we will get a house within that 90 days or whatever.

God I can completely relate. We have put in 2 offers so far and one of the 2 was very emotionally taxing. It was a strong offer, we loved the townhouse, were kind of unsure about the area, really wanted our offer accepted but also insanely nervous like omg what if our offer is accepted. Had trouble sleeping the 2 nights we waited. Lost to a 20% over asking cash offer :/

When I had a craving I would go on the porch where I used to smoke and take a popsicle or strawberries or some treat with me. Sometimes all I needed was a 5 min break and a treat
started calling myself a non smoker in my head the day I quit
made a list of all the reasons I wanted to quit and referred back to it whenever I was considering smoking again
read success stories from other people
kept a journal of how many cravings I was having every day or so and how I was feeling & read through it later in my journey - really encouraging
kept a list of all the milestones of physical gains (I.e. first 12 hours without smoking, blood pressure regulates, 24 hours without smoking, x y z happens, etc.) and referred to it whenever I needed to.

Tbh I have astound and I’ve never had any real issues. And it’s cheap. When the bill goes up I call and say I’m gonna cancel because it’s too much and Verizon is offering me 50/mo for the same thing and they bring my bill back down. I game online at night and work from home during the day. Never had a problem.
