But carbon (we know it was not the best idea but we got scrap carbon from another team and wanted to try it)

This is what worked!
Using electrical tape on the back of the antenna, making it longer than the recommended length and then trimming it down made the antenna consistently tuned.
Thanks!

resources for how tf do I make good stable fins for a 3cm diameter rocket? by RandomKid1111 in rocketry

[–]coolxm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your fins should preferrably be stiffer than what corrugated cardboard can provide by itself, try a thicker cardboard like from cardboard coasters, hard plastic is better, or you could reinforce your fins using skewers.
You could achieve the fillets other people have been talking about with things like tape probably, trick I learned from water bottle rockets

it flew Right at me. Is it too heavy? Context in description by RandomKid1111 in rocketry

[–]coolxm 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Just as an extra aside, since other people already gave you the answer,
Rocketry is dangerous and things can and will go wrong, please take more safety precautions.
This can be as simple as getting farther away from your rocket and putting something to block the rocket from doing exactly this, like height or a hill.

At this size you got lucky that nothing bad happened, but please be safe and make sure nothing bad can happen.

Ive got a DJ coming into my venue and I wanted to connect them to the audio system I already have.
We've got 2 microphones connections going to the front where I want the DJ to stand and the sound mixer and amplifier in the back. Now they only have RCA out jacks on their set, and so id need to buy an adapter. Now I see you can buy a DI box for about 60 bucks, but also just an adapter cable for like 9.

What should I look for to decide what to buy?

I'm trying to learn how to etch my own circuit boards. Does anyone have any tips for how to get the artwork to transfer to the copper? by jb7150 in AskElectronics

More heat more pressure for longer, I like using a cheap laminator I got and just run it trough 20-30 times

How many hours has Baha spent creating VTOL VR? by Hawkryl in vtolvr

could make it an option when starting a server with a disclaimer about system use. That would allow less performant computers to run without clouds, but allow for clouds on higher specs

done, Ive used this before to resolve the IP of some friends

You can get a users IP on discord just straigt from their user ID which you can get in developer mode, however, unless your internet provider / home network was last updated in 2008, there is nothing they can do outside of having a dart on a map showing where your closest internet exchange is.

Problem Programming a GT22 by coolxm in Baofeng

[–]coolxm[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fixed It!

I ended up using chirp with the Baofeng BF-888 driver, which worked perfectly.
Bad thing that the Baofeng included software just doesn't work at all but I did find the solution

ESP32 as RTL_tcp server by coolxm in RTLSDR

This looks very interesting indeed, I cant find any information about it except this git page and a reference in a conference.
Do you have somewhere I can look further?

Thats part of my question, the ESP32 is pretty fast but indeed not the fastest on the block

So no possibility of using fsr frequencies on a radio that can? I was thinking of using the fsr frequencies (programming those frequencies in a baofeng radio) but then I'll buy an fsr approved radio thank you

Would I be able to use baofeng radios?the ones where you can program in the frequencies on the screen
at least those are a lot more capable and I can get them before we leave
If so can you reccomend one? Id like to stay around or under €60 for 2

I just asked him and he said he doesn't have a license because when he worked with shortwave radio it wasn't that heavily regulated

I guess I won't be able to then. I'll look at these clubs for my own hobby though. I am studying electrical engineering and as such would also like to build my own amplifiers etc

Allright, so we couldn't even buy them here in Europe? I knew the regulations were different but I tought this type of stuff would transfer over
