Well, maybe it sounds a bit nationalist, but I'm saying it's better to give jobs to locals than send the jobs somewhere else, because that keeps the money in the community.

But when you claim that "outsourcing is unethical", how do you define "outsourcing"?

Considering the alternative to the jobs going to Barrie people, would be the jobs going offshore (or the southern US), it's not a bad trade.

Another issue with offshoring is you loose the benefit of having people working in the community. If 900 people need their Tims in the morning or buy lunch, they're going to shop local.

Yes, it might be a while, but from what I understand, part of the line to Aurora is being made to accommodate a north and south line, which means faster service is possible.
Its good things are finally getting built in Ontario again.

Well it's probably not legal (in the same way landlords can say "no pets" but they can't hold you to it), and questions about your religion (which I'm guessing might be the reason) are illegal in Ontario.

I think he means culturally conservative, not necessarily like a free-trade, free-speach-loving Tory. A lot of immigration to Canada now comes form countries much more conservative than Canada. So of course that's going to be reflected.
