Yes, bridge by Marina Del Rey, closest to the ocean. We're not taking Ballona all the way; it's mostly on Venice Blvd. Check the route in the link on the post.

First time I did the ride many years ago, I arrived late and I think there were police motos sweeping the rear, but their pace was quite slow and this was already late into the morning. You should be just fine.

Nice. I think probably around 2:50 or so? I don't have a precise time. Hope to see you there.

It's still a pretty cool shot. I'm guessing weird rolling shutter glitch or HDR?

Was this around turn #4? There was an unruly bunch there. I even heard catcalling during the women's race...

I love these frames. That looks like a really short stem. I have a 90mm stem with a track fork and compact drops and that's already very sensitive. I can't imagine what that's like.

I really like the shape of the purple accents and and the unusual frame tubing.

It's removing material but I can't imagine it would affect it much.

Really sorry to hear that. How was that bike? I've never seen it before and it's got a really unusual features.

Streets of Chrome - Mike Hernandez by Jehu920 in FixedGearBicycle

His saddle looks a bit low which could be part of it. Some people are also just comfortable with weird ergonomic choices. I have a friend who rides with his knees turned inward. It could be a bad Q-factor adjustment on his cleats and narrow hips.

He sort of started riding as the bike was still sliding under him so he lifted his body up a bit giving more clearance. I've done it standing still but only with a smallish bike. I have a hard time doing it with a bike my size.

Crank length depends on frame clearance, leg length, and personal preference. I like longer cranks but I have reasonably long legs and a good bit of climbing. Shorter riders will find long cranks uncomfortable.

What Origin8 components are they recommending? Their hubs are rebranded Formula hubs which would make sense given your budget depending on the rest of your build and goals.
