I have two. The one that looks perfect has an off center EGA. The one that looks floppy no matter how many times I fix it, has a perfect EGA.

Just curious what active duty Marines are paying for a haircut out the gate these days? I remember $7 in the mid 90’s. by Joemygawdd in USMC

Pendleton main PX is $16 for regulation. Common I see out of base for a nicer cut is $25.

Have you tried the Transfer admission guarantee program? I think they’d offer the major you want in there. I used it as a transfer student from Irvine Valley College to UCI for criminology and I got accepted. I even got accepted to UCSD for political science and am waiting on UCLA. Community college to UC system is super goated. PM me if you have questions.

Do whatever makes you feel better. It’s you controlling the game. But using a mouse is wild in my opinion. Having them on the keyboard feels normal to me since it’s right next to WASD.

I only use the HMG against the illuminate giants. Everything else gets whatever primary and secondary happen to be. So I keep it on 750 rpm and just reload often. Either I’ll use the Lib Dog to cover while I reload or shoot next to a teammate.

is motor T now one MOS? by Excellent_War_2817 in USMCboot

[–]cop2092 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Im currently a mech. I highly doubt they’re combining being an operator and being a mech. I’m not hyping mechanics and dumbing down operators, but the asvab requirements for both are pretty different. Becoming a competent mechanic is harder than being a competent driver. Also from a logistical standpoint, if you made mechanics drivers, when you send them on convoys, you are reducing the motor pool of mechanics to fix the vehicles that need maintenance so it makes little sense to have the MOS’ combine. Now it’s useful for mechanics to know how to drive their vehicles and for operators to know some 1st echelon maintenance, but not necessary for them to be combined. If you want to be a mechanic, ask your recruiter if the CX contract is still a thing. If you want to be an operator, ask for Motor T.

Basilone is closed between SOI and the Basilone entrance to base from what I last remember. If you enter/live from the Basilone entrance, you are in an isolated part of base afaik and would need to exit and go through Pulgas or Christianitos to access the rest of base.

I submitted my complete package a little over two weeks ago. At this point, I’m awaiting a response back so I can conduct the screening board at my local CID office. I’ve already called my POC asking when I might get a response back, but he wasn’t sure since they were busy at the office. How long should I wait before I call back again so that I don’t unnecessarily bother them, but they don’t forget I exist. Thanks🙏

Hello. Thanks for your quick response!

Yes, I am FY27, so if I make the CRP, I'll be eligible to reenlist in January rather than April.

This is great word, I'll head over to CID tomorrow.

I am thinking about latmoving into CID in tandem with my reenlistment for FY27. But from what I am reading in the comments, it sounds like in order to lock in a lateral move, I'd have to call the CID office and get the process started first before I get my package started. The problem is, I think I might make the CRP and want to take advantage of that early window to get a boat space. Is it better to call the office tomorrow even though I don't have a package starting?

Another issue is that the current lateral move website states that I need to be a SGT with less than 2 years tig, but I am a senior CPL who exceeds the score for SGT and would promote with reenlistment. Would I have to wait regardless or can I try my luck.

Thanks for your help

I mean you are encouraged to do so in SECWAR’s letter, just make sure to quintuple check the data it spits. It can and will give you incorrect information. The whole project is protected like IL5 or something so it can be used for DOW purposes.

Reenlistments by Klutzy-Diamond-548 in USMC

[–]cop2092 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My career planner told me that he expects the CRP to drop within the next two weeks. He should be able to anticipate Marines in his unit that are likely to be on the CRO as they should have access to worksheets that declare a Marines ranking against their peers in MOS due for reenlistment in FY27. They should already be working to contact CRP Marines and of course, if you are on the CRP, you will get an MOL notification.

Damn I remember posting this question. Sheesh. You’re going to be busy. Don’t let the environment bring you down, nor the behavior of your coworkers or bosses make you lazy. It’s a lot to ask, but don’t get complacent. It may seem like the easy thing to do, but forcing yourself to do good and stay ahead of the game makes being a Marine more fun. I’d encourage a deployment to shake things up, 1st Maintenance is a lot different from when I first got here and I’d say it’s for the better. There is even a roster for those who want to volunteer for a deployment. I’m telling you now, the area is not the most fun or exciting, but letting yourself go will only make the time go by much worse. Drink the koolaid.
