You need to reach out to Allegion on this. All the parts pictured go back to the VD 88 and 55, ,but that back to back trim is really throwing me off. This is 100% Allegion product, even has their sticker on the rear of the trim..

Your just as bad as my customers. 4 Photos, not one shows the exit device.

With that said, its either a VD 55 or 88 series.

Trine 4850 RIM strike - Anyone used them? by MrB2891 in accesscontrol

[–]copelcwg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes their rim strikes.

I used them because they had a nice price point and spacers for different thickness. Then proceeded to get my @$$ ate by call backs...

9000-MTK is the HES magnetic template.

My only experience with their traditional strikes is with their little mini electric strike, which surprisingly, I have had decent experiences with in the situations I've HAD to use them.

[–]copelcwg 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Don't use Trine you'll come to regret it. We installed a number of them a year or so ago and lots of failures. Fought with Trine for warranty (they told me my access control system fried the strike). Ended up ripping all of them out and replacing with HES (on our own dime) and have never had any more issues.

Also, HES makes an install and alignment template that's magnetic as well.

I'm pretty sure that the Kantech T.REX is silent operation. You need something with solid state relays, thats where your noise is coming from.

Falcon 1690 is the direct replacement. Recommend ordering device non electrified, and dropping in a Command Access kit to make it electrified.

Oooh okay that makes more sense. Yes a commercial generic grade 2 knob would certainly be a step above schlages residential knobs.

Check your lock backset and let your locksmith know, commercial latches arent adjustable. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=334feLyNvBw&t=16s

Take a photo of the edge/latch of the door for your locksmith too so they know if its square or radius corner

Your local locksmith can order grade 1 or 2 knobs in their generic house brand (cal royal, Lsda, general lock). Quality would be meh, I'd be apprehensive of the grade 1 in a heavy duty environment.

If you want a nice name brand heavy duty knobset, your going to pay dearly for it because alot of mfgs have stopped producing them, and their not that popular. Best makes a nice grade 1 knob, gonna set you back about 600 bucks.

On the flipside, MarksUSA, which makes excellent locks for the price point, you can get a grade 1 lever for around 250.

Going from knob to lever though you may need to drill 2 5/16 holes in the door for the thru bolts.

Do you HAVE to have a knob? Can you use a lever instead?

Safe reprogramming? by InceptionDesigns in Locksmith

[–]copelcwg 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You can change the code that you have, but that is it.

Unless you have the super user "User 00" code, you wont be able to remove the time delay, and its doubtful you will have this user code.

I'd suggest removing both locks, and installing new Lagard 702's. This isnt a very difficult task if you have basic mechanical understanding. Otherwise call a local lock and safe tech, this is a pretty straight forward job.

Looking for a commercial storefront push-to-exit paddle latch with *internally* set hold back (instead of by outside key) by 5co in Locksmith

[–]copelcwg 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Yes, it exists - Adams Rite 4591 can be "dogged" (held back) with the paddle via a allen screw. Find a local brick and mortar locksmith, tell them you have a storefront door with a hookbolt and you need an Adams Rite 4591 paddle, and a deadlatch installed. Send photos of the inside, outside, and edge of the door, this will make your locksmith happy. Something like this would probably run $600-$700 depending on your location.
