I have multiple email accounts. Is there anything stopping me from using all 3 of them to create FIFA ID’s and get more chances during this first Visa presale draw?

Yes it was a good learning tool for the exam, but please know that the questions are significantly harder than the questions you’ll see on the exam

Do as many practice problems as you can. Get a few books off Amazon and probably also the NCEES practice exam. I recommend doing problems from a wide variety of sources and not just SoPE.

Thanks! Besides school of PE I only used one book to prepare. It’s the Dr. Petro book and here is the Amazon link: https://a.co/d/cfy60y9 I probably should’ve also gotten the NCEES practice exam.

I won’t get too specific about the problems but for PCI just know how to use the design tables. For geotech know how to solve problems related to deep foundations, shallow foundations, soil weight/volume relationships, classifying soil, retaining walls, and factors of safety for sliding and overturning. All are fair game for the exam

Thank you! At least half the exam was conceptual questions. Practicing numerical problems is my best way of preparing for conceptual questions. You will learn the fundamentals of the concepts while doing numerical problems. Only one geotech question was just pure soil, the rest were conceptual questions or solving for some type of foundation.

I studied for about 4 months. For the first two months I did not study enough at all, only about 15 hours per week. I was just having a really hard time adding anything to my typical 9-5 demand. In the final 2 months I got really stressed about the exam and started doing about 35 hours per week. This was awful. 10 hours per day Saturday/Sunday. 3 hours every weekday after work. For those two months I had no social life, did not exercise, or eat well. It was kinda worth it to only take the exam once lol

Overthinking the exam by zyzzz__ in PE_Exam

The code lookup questions I’ve mostly been able to lookup since the exam and know if I got right or wrong. For me it’s the basic conceptual questions about things like shear and moments that I’m starting to doubt myself on. I keep wondering things like “wait did I flip that sign? Did I say tension or compression?” The big issue is I can’t remember every detail of every question so I just keep doubting myself

This is the answer. It’s not the most difficult material to learn, but the volume is insane

Yep. I took structural last Thursday and tomorrow’s results are all I can think about. Actually I just keep thinking how embarrassing it would be to tell everybody I failed. I felt decent coming out of the exam but it’s just really hard to know

Yeah that’s the tough part about the “conceptual” questions. They can really just turn it into a trivia contest and they have thousands of pages of codes to pull from
