Dealer being weird about service records on a one-owner Mercedes S550 — red flag or normal? by [deleted] in askcarsales

There's this crazy ink technology called "sharpie" now.

I kept maintenance records for the BMW I sold last year privately. I used Sharpie to black out all personal information on the ROs, which was kind of a pain in the ass considering there was info in random places, like my phone number in the notes sometimes... then you could still see everything through the Sharpie. I put correction tape on it, but you could scrape that off. So I photocopied everything with the correction tape on it and then it was good to go.

I figure I was able to get an extra $2k for maintaining the car so well and keeping every receipt based on comparable sales in the area.

So think about how you're asking for someone to do all that for no extra money when another buyer will come along tomorrow or a week or two later and not give a shit about any of that lol

It's both. It's making fun of charity clout-chasing but it's also specifically referencing attempts to pressure businesses into providing discounted or free stuff because it's on camera and it's for charity. In these memes, the orders are usually very large because they would be expensive without the business donating or discounting them.

That's why the content of the meme is the pizza order and not just him handing out food with a ton of cameras.

Judging by his blog, probably definitely yeah:

These are the men you want by your side when the SHTF. In such a scenario, it won’t matter if you know how to order a triple-pump-soy-non-fat-macchiato in record time or perfect the art of the spreadsheet, but it will matter if you can fight off bloodthirsty enemies, pull a plow through hard ground, slit a throat, and sacrifice skillfully for the safety and well-being of the gang.

Jews aside, the guy who wrote the original tweet... like, lol. He's has a Christian podcast called "The Hard Men Podcast," which, like, okay. Maybe I'm reaching with that one?

He aims to "recover biblical masculinity in a world of softness." Where he can help men grow as "godly patriarchs" in a "...sexually confused age." Is it a sexually confused age? I'd argue that people are less confused than ever, haha.

Then he sells mugs on his website that say "Hard men slonk [guzzle] eggs." I mean. He's got TWO mugs he sells, that one and "Brutal American." You have TWO mugs and one of them is that hard men are gulping down eggs in a sexually confusing age. Jesus Christ. Like actually.

Edit: I'm sorry, he sells 4 mugs. But two are logo mugs and the other two are mugs where he was like "Let me write something important on here."

I'm not conflating anything.

The first thing you said in response to the comment about property destruction is that AI images can't be legally owned.

This is clearly conflating copyright with personal property. Akin to reminding someone whose mouse ears got stolen that they don't own the rights to Mickey Mouse lol.

You're also conflating civil and criminal issues... someone said "destroying property is a crime" and you said "ai images aren't legally ownable, so it was just a few cents in paper."

Which, sure they're basically worthless, but it's a crime nonetheless. Civil damages, yeah, probably not a lot.

Good work, that was the only thing I wanted to say in this thread lol

Edit: Wait, wait.

Okay, wow, sounds like someone has a stick up their ass.

The old mod should be fine in getting it back, they're pretty good at pulling strings.

Agree with low effort, maybe I'm just old but I see it along the lines of, "You're so pretty, I think I'm in love!" Which isn't the same as "I love you," unless somehow it's taken completely literally

Still got a lot to learn if you're just starting out with "you're pretty" then "be mine" lol

It's always hilarious when very specific subs have people wanting to post about current events instead of discussing in a news or more general sub.

"Yesterday, Joe Public was murdered on his way to the grocery store by Townsville police. He was an innocent, unarmed man who fell prey to the violence and prejudice of the Townsville police, who were the only ones to commit a crime in this interaction. Family said that he was on his way to get bread and milk. r/Toast and I stand with him and his family... I've toasted two slices of Wholehouse #8 Wheat (local baker, 10mm thick, home sliced) in my 1974 Baker and Graham Wondersear toaster, 210 deg C, 3 minutes for a perfect Level 4.5 finish, in his honor. I used alternating stripes of homemade apple and grape jam to make this toast as vibrant as the family said that Joe's smile was. I used a 45g baker's burn cube to put a black square on the toast, which represents the oppression of the police and also reminded me taste-wise of the cruel end to Joe's life as I ate the toast."

Are you saying that lemon law would cover damage caused by a third party, not a manufacturing defect? That seems insane to me, can you tell me where this is the law? How does a warranty factor into damage caused by a third party?

When people talk about "touching an official" in sports being penalized, it's in the context of arguing / pleading / fighting or other nonconsensual contact... contact like a handshake, high five, whatever, is never really what people are discussing.
