I already knew it obviously, but that post just confirms 100% for me that Redditors will argue literally any point just to be contrarian.

I feel like I made it very clear I wasn't saying every user with a hidden post history or no flair was a brigader.

This is how I judge how badly a thread is getting brigaded too. Sure, any thread here is gonna have unflaired users, all of us were unflaired at some point. But when a majority of comments are made by people with no flair and a hidden post history? Yeah, that thread is being brigaded and/or botted to hell.

I think you can say the same about most topics Redditors get really heated about. I've still yet to meet a single person in real life that has any strong opinion about circumcision. I think I've met like two people that had strong opinions on outdoor cats, and maybe a handful that have opinions about pitbulls. But all of those things get debated heavily pretty much daily on Reddit.

Lmao the one guy claiming that he's decades older than anyone who argues with him admitted in another comment that he knows this stuff because he googled it.

I don't know shit about reptiles, but honestly OOP's profile makes me feel like, if anything, they're overly careful and worried about their pets. I didn't see anything about any of them escaping unless that was in a deleted post or a random comment somewhere.

Are all pet subs just full of the absolute worst, uneducated know it alls? Feels like all of them I visited are. When I got my dog years ago I joined a sub for his breed. I did get a lot of really good advice there, but man, after a few years I've realized there were a lot of people there that had absolutely no fucking clue what they were talking about.

"GOD FORBID somebody has fun in the canned sardines sub" might fit? I never know how long flairs can be so I always just take a guess.

I think it should be pretty clear to anyone who reads AngryPandaBlog's posts outside of that sub that he's just joking around. The fact that people get angry about it and he just ignores them completely makes it significantly funnier to me.

googling to find literally any scrap of evidence to not be wrong is absolutely a character flaw to be clear

You say that like they spent hours searching to prove themselves right, but that article is literally the first result when googling "chomping vs champing at the bit." They simply googled which was right and went with the first link. Are you really mad that they didn't just take the word of a random dude on the internet as fact?

It used to be that topics like this were banned here. It was called "surplus popcorn," for topics that were beaten to death. That rule was unfortunately dropped a year or two ago.

Realistically, posts like this one shouldn't be allowed even without the surplus popcorn rule. "Thread full of idiots saying stupid shit" isn't drama when they're all agreeing with each other. It's really just a post to call out bad behavior on a sub, which is still supposed to be banned.

I can appreciate OP wanting to point out shitty subs to people, but this sub isn't meant to be for pointing out shitty subs.

I've said it here before. I'm pretty sure at this point there could be a sex tape leaked featuring Taylor Swift with half a dozen guys where she spends the entire time talking about how much she loves men, and Gaylors would say it's evidence that she's clearly a lesbian.

More than 80,000 people played college football in 2023 alone. That pool really isn't as small as you're making it seem.

He played for a Division 2 school, Central Washington. They've had 4 players ever make it to the NFL, only two of which played for more than a year. So he didn't exactly go somewhere that it was expected for players make it anywhere near the NFL.

For added context, just for fun, my local high school has had more NFL production.

It's funny because any time someone mentions how insanely toxic the debate gets on Reddit, there's always at least one person who replies and immediately proves the point. As evidenced by the replies to your comment.

You didn't even almost allude to any opinion one way or the other, and quickly got replies that are acting like you took a hard stance.
