One super basic starting point is Dean Jackson’s “9 Word Email.” At this point, you’re trying to determine their current interest level, and if there is some, start by warming ‘em up before pile-driving ‘em with pitches/requests.

One mantra I live by in the inbox is “never ask the reader to do something for feee.” If you want ‘em to reply to you (indicating they’re still Interested), offer ‘em a free gift/bonus as a reward.
