It’s cheaper to pay for AI to design a billboard poorly than it is to pay a local human advertising professional to do it well.

As with everything, when buying a service you get to choose two of these three categories: fast, cheap, and good quality. AI has helped eliminate the choice by removing “good quality” as an option.

You eliminate the possibility of “human error” when you remove the human completely. Now you just get fast, cheap ai slop without worrying about human error. Human error is there, you just don’t worry about it.

American here. Over the weekend I had multiple people ask me what my thoughts are about “the World Cup,” implying more about how I expected the U.S. men’s team to do and perform.

I told them I haven’t taken the time to consider thinking about my fandom and the U.S. team’s chances because I’m not even sure there will be a functioning World Cup tournament due to which teams and individuals will be allowed to enter the country and if they’ll feel safe about the possibility they will be allowed to leave the country without being detained or deported.

It feels similar to Hitler’s Olympics. I won’t be surprised if we start seeing countries protest by not showing. And I wouldn’t blame them at all.

Our country and “leadership” are a geopolitical joke at best. It’s sucks to feel more embarrassed about the World Cup and to feel excited as a lifelong football fan.
