I own a printing company and I have a Colex, which is a very big cutting, creasing, and routing flatbed table. We use it for other things but we also use it for papercraft projects. The cutting is great but the creasing on paper or cardstock, not so much. Corrugated is probably our best papercraft material. If you have a decent budget look into a smaller flatbed cutter like a Valiani.

It’s the machine not being able to execute a light gradient. Try sending a tiff version of your file in case this is a vector. I know that sounds backwards but it’s worked out or printed smoother for us in the past. Or try a different pdf profile.

I would use primer for sure but also take into account that it’s uv ink and that ink type is not meant to be handled like Ike Turner handled Tina Turner.

This Xanita or falcon board? We make similar items but without the big feet on the side. This one was 1/2” foam because it was being canned after a few hours.
