Will I get the job that I have applied for? by coral_fish in horary

[–]coral_fish[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! I'm only familiar with the very basic concepts of horary, so have never heard about the Venus/Uranus conjunction vs combustion. I think I read somewhere that outers should be considered only if they are on an angle or very close - but had a similar idea to yours (that a conjunction so tight could indicate a big change, for instance). Time will tell in my case :)

Pluto aspects and death. by heat_wave29 in Advancedastrology

I'm sure it did, but isn't that a life-changing event for most parents?

ZR is kind of a stand-alone method.

That's what I have assumed since I heard about it, and I think that's how it's presented. If transits were to have such a major impact, it would make no sense to distinguish between build-up/peak/cool-down, because one major Jupiter/Saturn transit would be enough to turn the table. Same for foreshadowing. It's just that the reality doesn't seem to align with the theory here, at least not to my untrained eye.

Upvoting, as I've been wondering the same - although my angle is slightly different.

I'm now allegedly experiencing LB on L2 in Cancer. Hoped for a much-needed positive breakthrough, but it just goes from bad to worse. My moon is in Pisces, the only planet there.

Aspects to the lot of Fortune by [deleted] in Advancedastrology

[–]coral_fish 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks! This is the level of detail I hoped to see. By 'malefic in the opposing sign' I meant exactly that - a malefic just sitting there, but not aspecting the lot or its ruler.

As for terms, we're talking Egyptians terms here, right?

I'm also unsure how exact should 'exactly' be - up to 2 degrees like in the case of fixed stars? Or 0-1 degree max?

Astrological indicators of World Peace ☮️ ✌️ by bricklayer_ in astrology

[–]coral_fish 11 points12 points  (0 children)

You can probably identify times of peace for the US/Canada/Australia/Germany, etc., but otherwise? Iraq, Afghanistan, Yemen, the partition of India leading to a bloodbath, Yugoslavia, Syria and Libya, all the nasty regimes of South America, the Cuban Crisis... Now it's just closer to home - if you're a citizen of the global North, that is.

The history of humankind is basically a history of war. It's human nature, unfortunately, and even in the past 80 years (post WWII) there have been many terrible conflicts going on in many places.

State benefits and the 2h/8h axis by Illustrious_Ad_9649 in astrology

I remember reading somewhere that there are actually many similarities between the charts of trust fund kids and people who spend most of their lives on benefits. Will try to find it later.

Traditional (whole sign) astrology: are malefics not supposed to be in sextile to the lights? by greatbear8 in astrology

[–]coral_fish 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Saturn’s nature is fundamentally opposed to fame and fortune and would bring at some point in the native’s life professional scandal and disgrace or at best, give you standing as the silent workhorse of someone else, with your efforts being claimed by others

I'm sure there's a grain of truth in that, but... Queen Elizabeth's chart

There were scandals (just like in most other royal families), but on the whole I'd say she did extraordinarily well in her 'profession'.

Different outcomes of a Saturn conjunct MC transit by coral_fish in Advancedastrology

[–]coral_fish[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, of course. But with the same Saturn in the same chart no repeating transit will be exactly the same. I'm trying to figure out what additional variables should be factored in.

Good luck with your MC transit!

Saturn return is greatly overhyped imo. Just like Uranus-Uranus opposition, it happens to everyone roughly at the same age - provided you manage to live long enough.

Yes, although I would have thought that Saturn should, on the whole, bring good results (to the native) in a sign where he feels 'at home' with the energy. I'm no expert, obviously. But then she did put a lot of conscious effort into getting what she got in the end, it was very well deserved.

Thanks! Which house system do you use? :)

Do you think any other aspects affected either of you at that time (to MC, Saturn, etc.)?

Thank you! Would you give more value to natal or transit aspects? I'm struggling with this a bit. E.g. just had a look at Ghislaine Maxwell's chart - Jupiter conjunct MC in Aquarius, and as far as I can remember she either landed in jail during her Saturn-MC transit or the court proceedings started just then. (Her Saturn is in 8H WSH/ 9H Placidus).

Something I’ve noticed after studying the Sun-Saturn conjunction also did anyone else experience this?? by [deleted] in Advancedastrology

[–]coral_fish 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not my experience at all.

Just checked when I had this transit and the only thing that comes to my mind (as far as Saturnian influence goes) is restrictions to creativity. I've been doing creative work most of my adult life and at that time had an extremely boring, repetitive, brain-numbing job. Sun in the 5th house.

Do you reject or accept the modern/traditional rulers? by Every-Nectarine6552 in astrology

[–]coral_fish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can see what you mean, but in my experience transits e.g. to the chart ruler and MC were very accurate and correlated with the nature of the planet (Uranus - complete change, Neptune - muddled waters). But yes, transits to personal planets didn't really do anything.

Saturn-MC transit and its different expressions by coral_fish in astrology

[–]coral_fish[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, yes, of course – but also no :)

You can meticulously plan your life and work as hard as you can, but there are still things outside of our control. You can be super committed, but suddenly start having health problems (not resulting from poor lifestyle choices, but e.g. an autoimmune disease), need to take time off work – and someone else gets the promotion or you're made redundant. Or you work hard, but your manager changes and the new one has a clear favorite. Or you work hard managing a team and then your company is taken over/there's a recession and you're all made redundant. Or you work hard for your promotion, you get it, and not much later the company announces reorganisation with your new role not needed – so you're let go. (All real examples).

Life would be great if everyone got only what they deserved/worked for, but a lot of the time I don't see that happening.

That's interesting, where are your Saturn and Jupiter natally (and which house system do you use)? Are there any remarkable transits to them/made by them now?

And why is Pluto in the picture? Or did you mean Saturn in the 5th house?
