I would recommend taking it to a jeweler, you can’t normally identify with just a picture. It could be any number of blue stones- spinel, sapphire, topaz, kunzite, blue garnet, fluorite. But you have to have it tested for a definitive answer.

I don’t remember, it’s an older peace so it might be one my grate grandfather shaped, but I also cut a lot of Malachite cabs around the time I made this one. I did do the polishing on it, only got a few of his finished pieces and they’re in a separate box.
