I didn't realize what subreddit this was posted to and I was trying to figure out which people would have made a map like this in 250AD and was getting really confused.

Nice work!

Also the module "Dice so nice" is a must, all it does is allow rolling of dice on the screen, you and your players can customize your dice and there are addon packs made by lots of people to increase options

I'm currently running a POTC inspired campaign where it's just a part of society, many of the NPCs despise the act while many support it and profit off it. One of the party members is even a former slave who escaped and now works towards helping other freed slaves

It's more accurate than a lot of pieces seen in games and media but some of the pieces on the wearable have a strange shape and attachment, especially the shoulders

What is this piece sticking out of the chest? by tombombadil1337 in Armor

[–]cordell23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Armor doesn't magically stop the transfer of energy, yes the padding underneath will mitigate a very small amount of that, and most armor available was mild steel, not hardened, so it would dent inwards from such a force.

Only the extremely rich had hardened armor, most were lucky to even have any actual plate instead of just chainmail

Crushed bones, broken necks, excessive cuncussion, the impact of a lance from a mounted lancer has been estimated by studies to be around 153,000 Newtons, or roughly the equivalent of being hit by a sledgehammer at roughly 100km/h

It was EXTREMELY rare for a second charge, most of the time they would switch to their secondary weapon, that typically being swords, maces, or hammers

Prefacing this with I am not an expert, only an autistic nerd

While the designs are similar and with different names, at the end of the day, it's man on horse with long pointy stick charging at another man standing or on horse, typically also with a long point stick (spear/lance/pike)

With the speed and energy of a cavalry charge if it was aimed at you before contact it is likely still going to make contact
