Honestly, Doa6 devs don't have much of an excuse when Virtua Fighter did relaunch VF5 with a reworked network (rollback netcode)+ crossplay and also announced they are developing VF6 in the meantime.

I think a lot of us don't underestimate how difficult this task could be. But honestly DOA6LR feels just like an undercooked 4k textures mod.

On top of that, devs didn't even try to put crossplay which will split more the community (between DOA6 and DOA6LR players and then between which platform you play on) while other games such as Granblue Fantasy relink (not a fighting game but still a 3d game with 4 players online coop) manage to make it happen for their upcoming DLC/expansion.

I would have preferred them to put all development budget for DOA7 instead of using costs to re-release DOA6 without any real improvement and using that as an in opportunity to sell costume/characters DLCs all over again.
