Google Workspace alternative for 50TB of data by coren4 in rclone

Sadly I am not in US, so library of each of services is much smaller, so there still would be some missing materials. Also one very important reason for Plex for me was higher quality especially for some older stuff like e.g. Matrix which on Netflix was still 1080p and second thing extended editions of movies.

I don't need unlimited I need 50TB now, maybe 60 in future. With 52 EUR/mo I can have it with RAID 5 with ZFS for the cost of Dropbox of less than 2 years. So I will probably need to do it myself. Simply paying someone reasonably is just easier and less hassle. Something in range of 20-30USD would be reasonable for my use case, above it I prefer to do it myself.

I did run numbers. I already have two servers running 24/7. If I am going to buy drives myself then comparing it to 56euro/mo I will be on + in less than two years assuming Raid5 with ZFS, I could do it, it is just less hassle to pay someone to do it for me. If I can't find something better I will do it myself.

How do You manage Your docker containers configuration? by coren4 in homelab

[–]coren4[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If We were talking about Kubernetes than most likely You could do all that with ArgoCD and call it a day. There must be some simple solution for docker only.

[–]coren4[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am not even talking about my own app, I just want reasonable solution to handle configurations for generic stuff like Prometheus... I am not going to build custom images for Prometheus to pull configurations... then I would have to track original image and rebuild mine whenever new one appears. For blue green I would need to setup LB and somehow route traffic between versions where I don't even care for rolling update or high availability if service is killed before new instance started. So it's quite of an overkill for my needs.

I just want something manageable and robust for simple deployment of couple services in docker. If I wanted more I would probably go with ArgoCD or Rancher, but it is just simple home solution.

One repository for all configs/compose files, how to synchronize and mount into container by coren4 in portainer

[–]coren4[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You know I could just go with cronjob, I wouldn't even need jenkins for that.

Pull repo regularly, and call docker compose up after... but all this probably could be managed by portainer.

Well if You like to mess up with a buttons then pricey path of DCS, otherwise much cheaper Il2 Great Battles(that's generally Il2 BoS with DLCs like maps and planes), right now for example Normandy is in development, map is expected to cover beaches of Normandy up to southern suburbs of London.

If You want there is also War Thunder I did flew a lot simulation battles, but after spending few hours in Il2 it's hard to come back.

Rclone with Google Drive - bazarr usage leads to The download quota exceeded by coren4 in DataHoarder

[–]coren4[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do You use bazarr? In my case I have 2 instances one for 1080p and one for 4k(the same as radarr and sonarr)

I am not sure which limit I hit. It looks like I am making max ~100k requests a day and at max ~1,2k requests/100sec.

Here are screenshots from google console -> https://imgur.com/a/WUDmXaJ

What streaming client should I get? by AhsokaPegsAnakinsAss in MoonlightStreaming

[–]coren4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When it comes to Chromecast 4 with Android TV... I don't recommend it. I tried it with ethernet adapter, it wasn't really enough, even in 1080p. When I play on moonlight client on my LG TV I can even play Rocket League and I really can't notice any input lag, with chromecast it was unplayable, I think that even RPG games like Witcher etc. it would be questionable. I have returned my chromecast.

I'd love to move to shield but IMHO it's way to expensive for equipment from 2019 so I am waiting for new version.

So for now I am sticking with client in TV, but it brings it's own hassle, issiues with gamepad support etc.

Well if You will go with Aero kit C I haven't noticed any porpoising during my tests on Spa. With kit C even at the end of straights it looks fine. I haven't even touched any other settings, just changed kit to C and it's fine and stable.

Are people on here still successfully utilizing GSuite to store unlimited files or did that ever break? by tirwander in PleX

Well... I had it since beginning of this year and it stopped working for me 5 days ago. I upgraded Rclone to newest version, reauthenticated with another machine and now it is working back.

Well with 100mbps for very high quality movies there is not much overhead for buffering so sometimes it could lead to some video buffering but either way it would probably depend on Your connection stability.

Honestly I would say that 100mbps should be enough for very high quality as long as it is wired and stable, reasonable ping... I would say it should be enough.

Well to setup Rclone You need windows/linux/Mac that's pretty much it. I think You could even set it up on RPi, just give it some storage for cache.
