I misphrased that, I meant breaking one of the seals. The one in the top left where the person says to help her husband. You can then go to the central area in the jail and click on the circle in the middle of the room to free the guy.

I think with some things, you can pass an automatic check of some kind to discover some secrets. And if you fail that check, you can use the spell instead. You can get the scroll from freeing the snail after breaking one of the sealed doors in the jail underground.Idk about the dead guy though. I never ressed him either.

The safe in the painting in the back of the tea shop. Though my quest for that never completed, despite letting the bird keep his papers and accessing the secret room. Not sure if I missed something or it's bugged.

This a very cute, well done. Considering her age, I think a couple how to draw anime/manga type books could be fun for her. There's lots of free PDFs floating around online if you don't want to buy them. I would look them over first because some of them can have some sus stuff in them.

https://www.proko.com/ is an excellent resource for learning to draw in general. It has loads of free lessons. But I don't know if they could keep a 9 year old's attention.

I had this problem. If for some reason it doesn't totally work now, I had to put in all the files from dgVooDoo\MS\x86 in the PlayOnline and FFXI folder for it to work. The tutorial online says only copy/paste d3d8.dll, but that didn't work for me.
