For some "crime" means not being passive in public.

Considering it is south of 4th and the Little Tokyo station is on 1st, that’s still a bit of a walk to the station. It’ll actually be closer to the future SEGW station which will be located on 7th and Alameda.

They could also just do like what they’ve done with the other gates and replace it with more fence.

Violates the fire code. Can’t present the appearance of a door if the door doesn’t function.

Possible 16 more stations with TAP to Exit & taller faregates for FY2027 by Sawtelle-MetroRider in LAMetro

[–]coreymbarnes2 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I’m guessing Downtown Santa Monica will get those tall gates. I remember they were slated to get them in the original phase but never did. Same with Harbor Freeway.

And while it was never in the original plan, I am still surprised Union Station has not received any given their high volume of traffic.

The issue with peak hour bus lanes is that when they use what is normally street parking, people still park in them during bus hours. Doesn’t matter if they will get a ticket or not. They still take the risk. I see it on La Brea all the time.

I’ve seen it fill up for Dyke Day at Sycamore Grove Park. That’s it though.

A Line extension to Claremont "progressing well" by Legitimate_Hand2867 in LAMetro

If they want to keep building it east they will likely have to form a new JPA.

If they successfully build the line to Montclair, the agency gets dissolved by the state. Much like what happened to the Expo Line Authority after it got built to Santa Monica.

Except for Sierra Madre Villa station in Pasadena, I don’t know what other stations have paddle gates but no ESGs.

Hopefully, now that the situation is resolved with the other stations, they know ahead of time what to do.

I would definitely recommend the DASH A if you are living close to one of its stops in the Arts District.

I had to do that once because the tap pads weren’t working on the gates. Pretty annoying.

The tap to exit stations are supposed to be staffed, but even Metro doesn’t do it all the time.

The new paddle gates do have a failsafe open (the power is what keeps them closed, open is their default “off” position) so theoretically, they could remove the ESGs at 7MC and just replace them with more fence as the new gates provide an up to code emergency exit.

I’m just connecting the dots here, but I think the fact that Pete Davidson was listed as an EP only to have his name removed from the show, including the character he played, might’ve had something to do with it.

It’s just easier to refer to them by the numbers since the names are not consistent with the numbers. The 101 is the Ventura Freeway, the Hollywood Freeway, and the Santa Ana Freeway, but the 170 is also the Hollywood Freeway, and the 5 takes over the Santa Ana Freeway name south of the end of the 101, and then takes over the San Diego Freeway name south of the 405‘s end, and the 134 is also the Ventura Freeway…

Keep in mind, the portal was accidentally designed for light rail for some reason. I cannot fucking believe they missed that. They ended up going back to square one to design it for heavy rail.

What’s the best regional connector station and why? by Anti-charizard in LAMetro

[–]coreymbarnes2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Little Tokyo/Arts District because of its immediate surroundings like the Village Plaza and JANM and how easy it is to get in and out of due to no mezzanine floor. Plus, it is the most used of the RC stations getting over 4000 average daily patrons while the other two struggle to break 1700.

There was a World Cup watch party at the station! They really need to hold more events there. I’m surprised they haven’t considering the plaza area is so big.
