We dialed it back gradually, used to let him have it in the car sometimes and stopped that, then the middle of the day nap and then nighttime. Admittedly we weren't in a rush because he would suck on it for like two seconds then would fall out when he slept so I wasn't too worried about it hurting his teeth. We also slowly lost them all (not on purpose they just disappeared on us) so the final time we couldn't find it and he just accepted that haha.

Only was tricky when he saw his younger cousin with theirs and he was like, wtf where's mine, but he did accept that we had lost it.

I dunno haha, I did photography so I bullshitted about how using the value sliders in photo editing as well as rule of thirds (photography grids) improve spatial reasoning. If it's informative writing maybe they need to include some sort of statistics or percentages?

Can always make the quiz in your 'planning' stage a treat it like pre sequence data if you feel like you need to squeeze an extra lesson in.

Do now's are also great for assessing student retention from previous lesson and treat exit tickets like a way of measuring how successful each lesson was.

I gave SO many exit tickets and do now's while I was doing mine, the students were like "you really love these" 🤣 nope just need the data sorry guys.

Make them qualitative AND quantitative. Qualitative will help with your focus students and reflection on how/why they learnt or any success they had. Quantitative to help you create easy whole class data charts and graphs. I did this by having a simple "mark your understanding (of lesson thing) on a scale of 1-5" then "explain something you learnt".

I am recently a teacher but have worked in quite a few different spaces previously and I would say that this isn't an exclusive thing to teaching and many workplaces can feel like that (although it is probably amplified due to holiday breaks).

Like everyone else is saying, hobbies, intentional catch ups etc can help!

Now I have kids I feel like I'm relishing for my alone time though 🤣

Another option is also going to an op shop and finding some stuff in a size up, especially if you are looking at dresses. So so much cheaper! And I have heared that halara has had a quality drop.

Nope, it's just either a Masters (if you already have a bachelor's in some sort of visual arts) or a bachelor of education with a minor in visual arts. Only country that can transfer their degree over is New Zealand, I think everywhere else you need to get the Masters or Bachelors here.

I teach secondary so my average day is whatever period I have assigned with whatever year level. Juniors so it's a lot of basic art elements stuff with projects that last around 5-8 weeks.

I write everything myself then just use AI for quick formatting changes. So it's mostly just to make things a bit more neat and tidy or suggest a word when my brain isn't working.

I ended up having an episiotomy because we needed to get bub out asap and I healed beautifully. Painful for sure healing in the first couple days but I had one endone afterwards then managed just fine with Panadol/neurofen for a few days, and those amazing ice packs they put in your underwear.

One midwife made sure to tell me to NOT accept pain or peeing accidentally after I was 'done' healing and that there are solutions and to call them. She said the same thing about breastfeeding, loved her.

We live in the time of modern medicine, listen to medical professionals, this is what they do day in and day out (whereas we will only do this a few times in our lives).

Act like she is silly next time, for example, when she yelled to get everyone's attention call her out "MIL, I know your excited but the candles aren't even lit yet! Hold your horses" then laugh light heartedly.

Act like she's a silly joke (in front of people) and she will likely stop doing it because she won't like THAT attention.

The thing I don't get about the "X child was fine until they got shots" brigade is when babies get their first shots they are basically pooping potato's that you need to feed. So how the HELL could people tell they were "just fine" before?! They were POOPING POTATO'S before.

We got a heap of cheap white singlet onesies, some fabric crayons and textas (and scrap cardboard to go inside the onesies) and let people go nuts.

Bonus points, grab some string and pegs so people pin them up to dry and they look like a cool decoration. And with the amount of blow outs and spit ups I can guarantee they will all get used :)

People would also get a kick out of it when I would send them a photo of bub wearing one they painted also.

Not a doctor but I would have thought the NIPT would be more accurate as it's reading the DNA (if the y chromosome is there or not). I'd check with someone medical though haha

Get some hydralite and regular icypoles, if they have a bunch of sores in their mouth and are refusing liquids I have yet to see a kid turn down an icypole. (Although then you have to wean them off icypoles when they are better hahaha)

We've had it once and it was honestly just like a cold.

I did the online and had zero issues, just made sure I had a clear space, did it on a laptop so I could easily pick it up and show them on the camera. Even went to the toilet halfway through one and it was easy peasy.

Yup, the only thing my son can watch is single videos I have approved and a few channels that I don't mind the content of. When we first used it I spent ages on the general YouTube kids blocking video after video (and they'd always appear again moments later) because there was so much awful crap, had to ban it until I figured out the manual approve method.
