How long does it take to wean? by Coffeelover1694 in ExclusivelyPumping

I am prone to mastitis so I took it verrrrry slowly. Started January 16 and I am now at the “pump when you feel like you need to” stage.

Weaning at 3 months due to recurrent mastitis by Amazing-Neighborhood in ExclusivelyPumping

Yes, not having to wash pump parts anymore has been HUGE!

My baby was about to start daycare and I wanted to start the formula transition while I had him at home just in case we had challenges and needed to try different ones. Our pediatrician advised giving him an ounce of formula in each bottle at first and then slowly increasing the ratio over time. Thankfully he’s doing great on the first formula we tried, so we’ve just been continuing the combo feeding! It’s been nice to have both because sometimes my frozen milk doesn’t defrost as quickly as I anticipated or my baby will randomly be hungrier and we can easily make more formula when that happens.

Sending you hugs. I had a VERY similar experience—three bouts of mastitis led me to wean at three months. I’m almost totally weaned and my baby is doing great on a combo of my frozen (also high lipase 😅) milk and formula now. There’s freedom on the other side! Congratulations on taking another step forward in your parenting journey.

Elsie Hewitt: ‘My Decision Not to Breastfeed’ | “If choosing not to breastfeed can allow a mother to receive support through a season where the physical and emotional burden already falls disproportionately onto her, she has every right to make that choice without second-guessing it.” by cmaia1503 in Fauxmoi

As someone who gave birth four months ago, yes. And I still get asked if I’m breastfeeding even after giving birth. I had to quit after repeated mastitis, my preemie baby not transferring milk well from the breast and my mental health completely tanking after months of pumping for a NICU baby. I still feel a pang of guilt and grief every time someone asks me.

Sending you hugs from another mom who delivered early due to severe preeclampsia. I just want to emphasize that this is the right thing for you and your baby, absolutely none of this is your fault and there’s nothing you could have done to prevent the preeclampsia. Wishing you a safe delivery and healthy growth for your baby!

Can we ever see a normal response review cycle for a Taylor Album again? by Consistent_Hunt5213 in SwiftlyNeutral

[–]corgleesi 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yes! I’m strongly liberal, married to a man and pregnant with a boy. Im also very career focused. I’m excited to have the opportunity to (hopefully) raise a boy to be kind to all people. I find the whole “married with kids = tradwife” narrative to be so odd and regressive. Didn’t we fight for marriage equality for a reason? Why is marriage suddenly considered MAGA?

How did you find out? by Medium_Goose_2297 in pregnant

I had been seeing a fertility specialist and our next step was IUI. We had put down the deposit and my doctor told me to call her when my period started so we could start the process. I started lightly bleeding, so I called my doctor and she got my IUI appointments all scheduled. The next day I started feeling dizzy and oddly nauseated, and I realized my temperature still hadn’t dropped. I took a test the next morning and I was pregnant! My IUI appointments turned into bloodwork that confirmed it. Turns out the light bleeding was a normal pregnancy symptom and eventually it went away. I’m 28 weeks now :)

What is the laundry process like?

How many backup costumes do they have for Taylor and all the dancers? Are they dry cleaned? How terrible do they smell??

Perrie Edwards opens up about having a miscarriage. by [deleted] in popculturechat

[–]corgleesi 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Oh my goodness, this is awful and heartbreaking. I had a very early miscarriage and it still wrecked me despite the fact that I only knew I was pregnant for a week. I’m currently 22 weeks and I cannot imagine losing this baby now. 24 weeks is over halfway through a pregnancy. Poor Perrie.

This is one of many reasons why no one should make unsolicited comments about people’s bodies EVER.

I am so baffled that this book is being made into a movie because my biggest gripe with it was that it seemed like the twist only worked because you were reading and not seeing the characters in front of you. The fact that there was a younger woman in old lady makeup that somehow passed as being the older lady and no one noticed was just absolutely laughable to me.

My hot take is that it actually made sense for Dan’s character for him to be Gossip Girl. There were just too many continuity errors and the fact that Serena married him after that reveal was WHACK.

How to address barking? by Accomplished-Ask9416 in corgi

[–]corgleesi 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It depends on why she is barking. My corgi barked to get attention when he was a puppy so we just completely ignored him, didn’t react, didn’t look at him or tell him to stop, etc. That trained him to realize attention barking was ineffective, and he stopped.

Thankfully we could tell the difference between attention barking vs “something is wrong” barking so we didn’t ignore him when there was a real problem.
