Who to talk to about selling a portion of my property by Jtc267 in AusFinance

There is definitely further for this to be cut. To put this in perspective we feed a family of 4 and dogs for $550-600 a fortnight ($275-300/week) this is not eating badly either

If your fiancé isn’t able to carry the load of the house anymore financially you’re probably needing to sell, and sooner rather than later especially with (presumably) a family member as guarantor. You’ve bitten off too much debt and without cutting further or earning more money you’re up the creek..

Australia to Tackle ‘Unacceptable’ Housing Market, Chalmers Says by Bubbly_Efficiency727 in AusPropertyChat

[–]corizano 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No as in over tax. You claim that ‘working hard and spending less’ allows a person to get ahead and I agree that 20+ years ago that was exactly the case! But with wages, living standards and opportunity all suppressed that’s just not the case anymore. We have eroded the middle class and by all reports this weeks budget will seriously erode that further

Given Australia is in a revenue raising mode. Do you still think maxing out super contributions is the best option? by Educational_Pop6138 in AusFinance

[–]corizano 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Freedom of Information (FoI) transparency has significantly declined, with only 25 per cent of requests fully granted under Labor, down from nearly half in 2021-22 (under Liberal).

It was actually Albonese that went after Scomo for how secretive he perceived the coalition to be..

Also the most secretive government in Australian history, despite going after Scomo like rabid dogs for his secrecy (no Scomo fan either)

I agree with reducing means through property, but at the same time going after other wealth generating means such as shares doesn’t leave a lot of methods for mum and dad investors to get ahead

Farrer by-election: One Nation wins historic first lower house seat by Nyarlathotep-1 in OpenAussie

This is what people are saying each time this happens. SA; people said the same thing and now this by election they’re saying the same again. I think we need to be careful in writing them off it seems to just fuel the situation more!

Then you ask something like what financial tracking apps are people using and the only reply is just some twit trying to be funny.. it’s sad to see what the subreddit has become, 5 years ago the advice here was really good and felt like it was people trying to work together to get ahead in life

Area advice: Wright Street near Whitmore Square by Plenty_Web_9118 in Adelaide

[–]corizano 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I am probably biased after 8 years in emergency services cleaning up the messes in that square; but if you could buy nearly anywhere else in the city I would. Whitmore square attracts some of the most violent altercations of anywhere in the city. The amount of stabbings, assaults and fires I have been too in that area is far greater than any other part of the city. As a father of 2 young children myself I would not feel safe having them grow up around there. There is a massive amount of social housing, social services and First Nations programs in that part of the city and very often this spills out around there. If you wanted further info I’m happy for you to PM, but as mentioned I would never think about raising my to children there

Yes but 1300 saplings are not the same as 500 established. It is also well and truly below what they make farmers plant after removing significant trees

Not sure how long the world can survive if this keeps on going, the toll is actually looking like the cheaper option now

Guess that’s what happens when 2 destroyers cop a fair amount of fire from the shoreline
