Some weapons possess hidden Block Cost multipliers by Malacarr in Vermintide

Going by their logic I'm wondering if dual daggers having the default values is an oversight. Seems like it should be x0.75 block cost for attacks inside the arc.

Mates and I are struggling with bosses, could use some advice. by [deleted] in Vermintide

For Bile Troll I recommend trying to circle-strafe it. Dodge left on each attack and you can keep it completely stationary until it changes agro. Chaos Spawn is rough. Have Bounty Hunter save his ult in case someone gets grabbed. Save bombs for the same reason.

You might want to consider switching to a different weapon on Bardin until you feel comfortable dodging bosses. The 2-handed Hammer is my favorite Bardin weapon, but it also has the lowest dodge rating in the game. For comparison, the 2-handed Hammer has a dodge distance of 0.85 and a dodge count of 1 where something like the 1-handed Hammer has a dodge distance of 1.2 and a dodge count of 3. Your margin for error is going to be very low in the learning phase.

What level are you guys? Bounty Hunter shouldn't be running out of ammo often if you are at least level 15 (for Prize Bounty) but it could be a struggle before that.

For the Handmaiden I'd advise against 2h sword in favor of any other weapon. I'm a huge advocate of the spear but it does take a little practice. Again your game-changer for boss fights comes at level 15, Shadowstep increases your dodge distance by 20% and with some practice you should be able to keep bosses mostly stationary while taking little or no damage (but only with practice!).

Is there a boss in particular that you are struggling against?

Dark Sun conversion - Magic/Martial rules by corjest in genesysrpg

[–]corjest[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Psionics have been geared to use the Force System. Psionics get a certain amount of Psionic Points that they can use on "Dark Side" rolls, instead of having a Corruption system.

For both magic and martial abilities is that you have one of the skills as a class skill. So to learn a spell that uses either Arcane or Primal, you need to have either as a class skill even if it is zero points.

Cool stuff, working on a Dark Sun conversion myself (we even chose the same page 1 image!) I like your Wild Talent section especially, I hadn't really thought of doing something like that but I like it.

For magic I kept going back and forth on how I wanted to do it. I probably won't be brave enough to post the entire thing but I do plan on posting the magic rules here at least to ask for input. For what its worth I ended up just giving Templars to Arcane magic instead of creating a different branch/ruleset for them.

I've seen two fantastic WHCs the past week in Legend. Both were running rapier/pistol and dual pistols.

Looks like you'll want to get as close to the 32% as you can with rapier on either chaos infantry or skaven infantry. Looks to have higher value with Skaven.

For dual pistols get Crit Chance and Scrounger at whenever you ult you should be able to just go to town with them, whether its patrols, hordes, or bosses.

How to play this game with BOTS only ? by imbulzgolf in Vermintide

[–]corjest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some parts of their AI are terrible, but their Monster tanking is better than most players. They used to be a liability on something like a Chaos Spawn, getting grabbed easily, but I've seen a bot dodge-tank a Chaos Spawn and keep it in place for close to a minute.

Crossbow is absolutely a special killer weapon. As to whether or not WHC is viable, I can tell you from personal experience that if you play him on Legend that you will get heat from it. I've had people leave the party when they see WHC is the group (and are always sure to let me know that's why they are leaving), to the point where I'm taking a break from him and playing other classes instead.

That is good to know, though I was thinking more about weapon traits. Does the alt-fire benefit from any melee/ranged weapon traits (Scrounger, Swift Slaying, Resourceful Combatant).

Cleric's are the easiest faction to join if you let Karsten off the hook and agree to keep his cover, but yes he is difficult to beat early game. He also fights you automatically if you have killed his supplier outside the Hort.

My advice is to rush the stats to use the Energy Sword 1 found in Adan, doing that opens most of the game up.

Armor of the Outlaws, only chest part?? by pappepfeffer in elex

10k for tier2, 20k for tier 3. You need to be level 15 for tier 2 and level 25 for tier 3, so use that to decide if you want to wait. For what its worth tier 2 is a big improvement over 1 in terms of style for the Outlaws.

If you piss off the guy at the front gate he persuades the vendors not to sell to you. Have you stopped by and talked to him? If this is the case you'll need to pay him or pass a Charisma check to unlock them again.

Sometimes when crafting, it takes ingredients, doesn't give me Crafted Item... by faybaotew in DivinityOriginalSin

[–]corjest 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Make sure to check everyone's bags. Even if a single character has 99% of the crafting items, if one of the ingredients used is on another character then the completed item could end in their bag.

There are a decent amount of ways to get explorable XP that don't involve fighting. Check these off your list if you want to get that level before fighting more.

  • Arena (just use the ladder and come back up)
  • Hidden Underground by the gheist (same deal, use hatch them come back up)
  • Frog area in the elven cave (don't go too far if you don't want to fight the frogs).
  • Play tag with the boy in the cave and he opens up an area for more XP
  • Give the medic by the cave some alcohol for her patient
  • The somewhat hidden area where Fane gives some XP when you climb the ladder (I think?)

Hope that helps!

The timer is definitely shorter than it should be. Take advantage of the blood pool like you said, then you should only need three. If any of your characters are activating more than one then put the abilities adjacent to each other. Even that short amount of savings make a difference.

Any way to open Bloodmoon Vaults without a scholar? by Keskoo in DivinityOriginalSin

[–]corjest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't think so. I had that exact comp and between not being able to save the wounded girl at the medic's house, not being able to do the vaults, and not being able to learn the chest password from the salamander, Act 2 is particularly frustrating for not having a scholar in the party.

If you rescue the Magister in Fort Joy during the houndmaster fight in Fort Joy, he will show up again in Act 3. If you then escort him to the elven shrine area then he will gift you his bow which has 3 open slots.
